Shout It Out Loudcast: Album Review Crew "For Those About To Rock We Salute You"
On the 73rd Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom & Zeus welcome back special guest, the host of the Busted Open Radio on Sirius XM and Shout It Out Loudcast Hall Of Famer, Dave LaGreca, to review the 1981 classic ACDC album "For Those About To Rock We Salute You."
ACDC was just coming off their major breakthrough album Back In Black with their classic lineup of new singer Brian Johnson, the incredible dual guitars of brothers, Angus & Malcolm Young and the underrated Cliff Williams on bass and Phil Rudd on drums.
For Those About To Rock We Salute You made it to #1 on Billboard album charts and eventually went 4 X platinum. This was ACDC's first #1 album led by their title track which even has a video that was in heavy rotation on MTV.
This album continued the ACDC formula of guitar rock at its best. The band was becoming legendary and this album cemented them as one of the greatest bands in all of rock history.
This was Tom's pick and as usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew.
So tune in to find why are we discussing Billy Ocean, CM Punk and Nicole Bass oh yeah and ACDC!

Only Three Lads: Genny Schorr (Backstage Pass; Author - All Roads Lead to Punk) - Top 5 All/Mostly Girl Bands
This week, we tip our hats to the trailblazing all (or mostly) girl bands of alternative rock. Speaking of the trailblazers, today’s ceremonial Third Lad certainly is one. As a musician and songwriter, Genny Schorr (aka Genny Body) was a member of one of the first mostly female punk bands in LA, Backstage Pass, along with past O3L guest Marina Muhlfriedel (aka Marina Del Rey), Joanna Spock Dean, and Holly Beth Vincent, later of Holly & The Italians (of “Tell That Girl To Shut Up” fame). They were critical in the launch of legendary LA punk club The Masque. They landed a track on Rhino Records’ seminal LA punk comp, Saturday Night Pogo. They played with, and their story intertwines with, a jaw-dropping list of punk, new wave, and rock heroes. After Backstage Pass, she was invited to be in the Go-Go’s. She owned the influential rock n’ roll clothing boutique Strait Jacket with Stiff Records’ impresario Jake Rivera, which launched a long career as a wardrobe designer and stylist to the stars. Many of those stylish videos, album covers, and magazine shoots you love from the ‘80s? Genny had a hand in sculpting the look. She lived with and toured with Linda Ronstadt as her personal wardrobe stylist as the singer transformed her image from new wave darling on the Get Closer tour to sophisticated starlet stepping in front of Nelson Riddle’s big band. She styled and toured with the Bangles at their peak. But ultimately, All Roads Lead to Punk - which just happens to be the title of Genny Schorr’s incredible new memoir of sex, drugs, rock n’ roll and fashion fromHoZac Books. It’s not only a fantastic page-turner, but the photos and ephemera make it an indispensable time capsule of the era.
If you think the stories Genny shares on O3L are incredible...just wait til you read the book!

Decibel Geek Podcast - Geekwire - Week of 02.16.26
This week on Geekwire, we dig into some big movement in the hard rock and metal world as Skid Row teams up with Sweetwater for a worldwide search for a brand-new singer — and yes, anyone with the pipes can throw their hat in the ring.
We also hit comments from Slash, who explains how the Guns N' Roses recording process has always worked as a democracy behind the scenes, plus tour news as W.A.S.P. announces the “1984 to Headless” North American run with special guests KK's Priest.
We discuss a tough update from the metal world as Twisted Sister cancels all 2026 reunion shows due to Dee Snider’s health challenges, and the reaction across the scene.
Also in the mix: Manowar shares emotional words following news about Ross “The Boss,” Accept guitarist Philip Shouse unveils his debut EP, and Blaze Bayley explains why he’s stepping away from meet-and-greets at future shows.
We check out a funny story from Chris Jericho involving Ozzy Osbourne, along with new music news from Donnie Vie signing to Steven Van Zandt’s label.
KISS-related headlines dominate part of the show as Gene Simmons joins an all-star tribute to the Bon Scott era of AC/DC, the sons of Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons release the first Stanley Simmons video, and the classic “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” video crosses the one-billion-view mark on YouTube.
Plus: Brett Carlisle’s run on American Idol, the bizarre Chattanooga KISS memorabilia theft story (by popular demand), and renewed discussion around the Kurt Cobain investigation as claims resurface while Seattle police stand by the original ruling.
We hope you enjoy Geekwire and SHARE with a friend.

Ugly American Werewolf in London: Ozzy Osbourne - The Ultimate Sin
By 1986, Ozzy Osbourne already had the reputation as the Mad Man of Metal. Since his departure from Black Sabbath, he'd created a whole new act that was very successful thanks to his wife and manager Sharon (Arden) Osbourne and the talented musicians she got to play & record with him. After a string of multi-platinum solo records in the US, you'd figure that Ozzy was on top of the world and ready to continue to dazzle audiences around the world. However, things weren't so rosey in Ozzy's den.
Sharon made him go to rehab and Betty Ford which may helped him slow down but didn't stop his use of drugs and alcohol. A reunion with Black Sabbath at Live Aid put his next solo writing sessions on hold and he end up losing his rhythm section, including long-time bassist Bob Daisley. Guitarist Jake E Lee who blew fans away with his performance on Bark at the Moon was upset about not receiving writing credits (or royalties) from that record and refused to proceed until his contract was worked out to his liking.
Despite all that, The Ultimate Sin is still a classic Ozzy album. From the title track to the finale in Shot in the Dark, there are amazing metal moments with brilliant guitar pyrotechics from Jake. The title track, Thank God for the Bomb and Killer of Giants all refer to the ongoing Cold War that kept people living in fear. LIghtning Strikes and Shot in the Dark received steady rotation on MTV and eventually The Ultimate Sin went double platinum. Unfortunately, Ozzy wasn't happy with the mix by producer Ron Nevison so this album is now out of print and Shot in the Dark is not included on any of Ozzy's greatest hits albums. While controversy and infighting may have followed Ozzy around, his status as a bonafide Metal God is never in question on this album and we think Jake E Lee deserves more credit as a guitarist and songwriter than he receives. Nevertheless, The Ultimate Sin may not be his best solo record but we count it among his classics of the 1980s.
