#1700 Terrible Relationship Advice - Harps & Tiff
Not sure what's happening at TYP Central but boy, we've been having some very real, organic, unplanned and vulnerable conversations lately. We go in with an idea of what we might talk about and end up somewhere totally different. We plan for Sydney but end up in Perth. In this episode, the emotional curtain gets pulled right back and Tiff and I talk about her ‘motorbike riding buddy’ who’s “definitely not her boyfriend” (ahem..), living in an emotional, psychological, behavioural, and/or sociological box, thought cults, having an awareness and consciousness bigger than us, the impossibility of being (totally) objective, and for some strange reason, the two least-qualified people in the world, decide to dispense some relationship advice.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#1699 Fibber-Dibber - David Gillespie
(*Read the following synopsis in a cheesey radio voice for optimal effect)... Are all politicians psychopaths? Can ice baths 'treat' addiction? Has Gillespo ever ridden a motor bike? Why are Aussies becoming more distrusting? Is honesty a dying quality? Is it prudent to assume that people could be lying? All this (and more) in today's riveting instalment of (make your internal voice cheesier and a bit echo-ey.. the You (you, you) Project (project, project).See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#1698 Life Situation vs Life Experience - Joel Sardi
What is the relationship between the situation we find ourselves in, and our experience in the middle of that situation? How much of our experience is created by the situation, and how much is created by us? My friend Joel Sardi does life from a wheelchair. He has a C5 spinal cord injury, no feeling from the chest down, some use of his arms, limited motor skills with his hands, a myriad of other physiological and practical challenges and in the middle of what is (from the outside looking in) a highly-undesirable situation (navigating life with quadriplegia), Joel is as happy, or happier, than most people I meet.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#1697 Speaking 'Ron' - Harps & Tiff
Wow, this episode was an unexpectedly deep conversation and we opened all the doors; spirituality, psychology, emotions, religion and sociology. I even gave Tiff a mini coaching and feedback session mid-podcast (at her request). The title will make sense once you listen. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#1696 The Neuroscience Of Sleep - Prof. Russell Foster
Hi Team. It’s a busy week at Craig Central so today we’re revisiting a really interesting chat I had with Prof. Russell Foster. I’ll be back tomorrow with a new episode. See you then. *Professor Russell Foster (from Oxford University, no less) is one of those rare breeds of high-level academic with an amazing ability to break down the super-sciencey stuff into TYP-Friendly, easy-to-understand-and-apply info and inspo. Yes, I used inspo. You’re welc. Stop it. Among other things, we spoke about circadian rhythms (what they are and why they matter), the neuroscience of sleep, our biological clock vs. the clock on the wall, why alarm clocks are crap, the perils of night shift, poor sleep and dementia, sleep deprivation as torture, the relationship between sleep and cognitive function, biofeedback, why are heart attacks and strokes more prevalent between 6am and midday, how modernity and technology has made us ‘lose touch’ with our biological sat-nav, why we’re crap at sleep, why exposure to early morning light is important and lots (and I mean lots!) more. The Prof’s new book is called ‘Life Time: Your Body Clock and Its Essential Roles in Good Health and Sleep’.Life Time: The New Science of the Body Clock, and How It Can Revolutionize Your Sleep and HealthSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#1695 "I Was Wrong" - Harps
"This is what I believe.. but I could be wrong", said no religious leader, politician, health expert, spiritual guru, nutritional zealot or narcissist, ever. The "need to be right" mindset is exhausting, unrealistic and toxic but nonetheless, it's ubiquitous. It's about a few things but mostly, it's about fear. This episode is me thinking out loud about an aspect of human behaviour that fascinates me. It's just my thoughts so, of course, I could be wrong (lol). No, really.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#1694 Netty, NBA & New Horizons - Renae Ingles
Another one of my amazing (ex) athletes graces the TYP studio today and Renae and I go deep talking about the mental and emotional cost of being an 'obsessed' professional athlete, when emotion is considered weakness, the pros and cons of vulnerability, living on the other side of the world with her NBA basketballer husband (Joe), raising their three little humans in often-trying circumstances, being a 'WAG' who doesn't always fit in, finding identity, purpose and happiness after professional sport, building a new career and lots more. In case you don't know, Renae was one of the world's best netballers for more than a decade, having won international player of the year twice, world championships, Commonwealth Games gold, multiple premierships in the national league, way too many awards and she represented Australia 67 times. Oh, and she also has a Master's Degree in High-Performance Sport. Other than all that, she's a dud. Lol. renaeingles.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#1693 What The F**k Is Blu Ray? - Patrick Bonello
If there was any doubt about Patrick's sanity, everything is cleared up in this episode, when he chats about the thousand plus movies he has on Blu Ray (individually purchased for $20 plus). If you're old enough to remember 'Seinfeld' being marketed as a "show about nothing" well, this episode is essentially a Seinfeld podcast. Weirdly, some of you will still enjoy it. #1692 Marigold's Magic Stars - Samantha Wills
I loved meeting Samantha (she's ace) and this was a fun chat about talent, creativity, intelligence, self-doubt, self-belief, imposter syndrome, courage, getting out of our own way and the challenge of turning an idea in our head into an 'actual' thing for everyone else (outside our head) to see, experience and enjoy. Samantha Wills is an award-winning designer, author, speaker, and advocate for the arts. Founding one of Australia's most popular jewellery brands from her dining table at just 21, which went on to be hailed as "Australia's biggest export since Vegemite." Her debut book, Of Gold & Dust, became an instant bestseller, chronicling her journey with raw vulnerability and humour, revealing the realities of a creative founder behind the highlight reel of social media and public appearances. Named a breakout star by The New York Times, Samantha's first venture into children's literature, Marigold's Magic Stars, was created to inspire children to recognise the importance and intelligence of their creativity, embodying the message, "You can't spell smart without art!" samanthawills.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#1691 The Sh*t Stirrer - Damon Hayhow
Years ago, I remember hearing about this outspoken, straight-shooting, anti-establishment, enigmatic bodybuilder, fitness industry bloke and gym owner called Damon Hayhow. Some years later we met at his Melbourne gym and everything I had heard, was true. But not in a bad way; he wasn't some ranting angry idiot. No, he was a highly-intelligent, deep-thinking pracademic who challenged convention (if he thought it was stupid or ineffective) and asked questions that some people didn’t want asked. So, after a few years (and more than a thousand interim episodes), it was fun to get Damon back on TYP, and to discover that he's now living in a part of the world that I would not have guessed if he gave me fifty attempts. Enjoy. damonhayhow.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
