[UNLOCKED] 42: Whose is this Nationalism?

TENE Crüe analyzes an extremely interesting Bulgarian documentary/travelogue from 2003 called Whose is this Song? (Chia e tazi pesen? / Чия е тази песен?) which follows the director, Adela Peeva, as she follows the multiple claims on and origin stories for a single song from her childhood. Beginning in Turkey, Peeva travels to Greece, Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, and Bulgaria; at each stop locals claim this song as their own, often denying that other nations are even capable of its composition. Tracklist from opening sequence: Iraqi Song - Yosif Omer Oj ti Paco Drenovcanke - Goga Zafiroski Ben Melamet Hırkasını - Safiye Ayla Fel Shara - Klezroym Rasputin - Boney M Idem Preko Zemlje Srbije - Vesna Zmijanac Shukno Patar Nupur Paye · Indrani Sen Ruse kose curo imaš - Usnija Redžepova Also in this episode: Shoshana - Olivera Vuco Nas dva brata oba ratujemo - Partisan Song Closing song: Katibim - Karl Denver Subscribe to patreon.org/tenepod and twitter.com/tenepod.
