COVID-19 Quiz Time: Test Your Knowledge and Learn Even More

Previously, we've hosted "Ask Us Anything" sessions where people submitted questions to doctors about coronavirus.  In this webinar, live attendees played along and competed in an interactive "bar trivia" style quiz show. After each answer, E.R. physician Dr. Gregory Jacobson provided additional commentary about the answers. We think you'll enjoy the recording, though, and there's a lot of great content   The recorded quiz show will start after about 5 or 10 minutes of introductory comments by Greg.  Dr. Greg Jacobson is an emergency medicine physician in Austin, Texas and has been practicing for over twenty years. He is also the Chief Executive Officer at KaiNexus. He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine.

A Great Idea Isn't Enough for Successful Change

Presented by Mark Jaben, M.D., author of the book "Free the Brain" Maybe you had expected more. Maybe it went ok, but you’d like it to go smoother. Maybe its gone well and you want to understand about how that happened for next time. Maybe you’d like change to be less of a hassle. If so, this webinar is for you. As a result of this webinar, you will understand: Change is a verb, not a noun The fundamental unit of change Why your belief about what’s going on is not the result of what you think. Why conflict is what you should expect and what you actually need for successful change The choice to resist or engage is not an analytical one, so why approach it that way. We are not wired to resist; we are wired to succeed. An ideal change must work AND be workable; judging each uses different functions in the brain.

Register for the webinar here: https://info.kainexus.com/continuous-improvement/a-great-idea-isnt-enough-for-change/webinar/signup Host Mark Graban is joined by Mark Jaben, MD for the preview of this webinar: A Great Idea Isn't Enough for Successful Change March 3 from 1:00 - 2:00 ET Presented by Mark Jaben, M.D., author of the book "Free the Brain" About Mark:  Mark is a residency trained, board certified Emergency Physician with over 35 years of clinical experience. After 20 years in a single hospital group, he spent the next 13 years as an independent emergency physician practicing in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, Indian Health Service facilities, office practices, and EMS services. His initial immersion into Lean came in 2008 while living and working in Taupo, New Zealand, where he had the opportunity to test Lean methodology while leading implementation efforts at the hospital there. After returning to the US, he continued to apply these concepts in emergency departments, hospitals, clinics, and regional collaborations. Observing the successes, as well as the trials and tribulations, led Mark to delve further into why this stuff does or does not work. His newly released book, Free the Brain: Overcoming the Struggle People and Organizations Face With Change, takes a look at what neuroscience research says about how the brain operates and provides some real insight into what prevents an organization from getting the results they are after from whatever methodology they are using and what it takes to garner engagement and tap into creativity. In addition, Mark works with individual physicians struggling with burnout as a coach with TheHappyMD.com and with organizations through presentations and trainings. The intersection between clinical work, coaching practice, and Free the Brain has been quite illuminating in understanding just why change can be so challenging and yet so rewarding.
