Dennis & Julie: We Are Not a Democracy
Do you know how many Jews there are there in the world? Dennis recalls his first trip to Kentucky. State populations versus representation… Dennis and Julie share adoration for the founding fathers… did divine intervention play a role? Julie was overwhelmed by pride propaganda everywhere in NYC and wonders how we went from gratitude to contempt in this country after seeing the Statue of Liberty. The only systemic racism in this country is coming from the Left. A speaker at the Beyond Growth conference states that white supremacy, colonialism, and imperialism underlie everything. Where is all this wokeness headed? Who is it worse for… those that saw America at its greatest and saw it fall … or for those who never saw it as great? Saying “yes, dear…” is placating your wife. Leftist men aren’t masculine. What does the Leftist love… love requires respect and gratitude, and there is none of that on the Left. People who walk around thinking they are victims will inevitability be mean and unhappy. Kids don’t listen to parents regarding potential mates. Do you like your in-laws? Standing on Principles
Mark Isler guest hosts for Dennis… Mark invokes the wisdom of the late great political commentator and theorist Bruce Herschensohn. If we don’t stand up for our principles, we will likely follow the latest trend or, like, our current president, do or say whatever we think benefits us the most. That’s a hollow way to live. Immigrants are the ones most likely to understand the hope America still offers to the world. It pains them to see native-born Americans take that hope for granted... The Democrats are the true “elites.” They have disdain for ordinary Americans. The left wants to control how we live, what we think, and what we say. Mark discourses on the meaning of Lincoln’s Gettysburg address. Lincoln’s words ring as true today as they did almost 160 years ago. The Left, sadly, repudiates most, if not all, of them. Supreme
Mark Davis guest hosts for Dennis… Mark celebrates the victories conservatives have achieved through the Supreme Court. In just the last year, the reversal of Roe and Affirmative Action are major victories, almost unthinkable five years ago. Thank you, President Trump… What did the Supreme Court do in the last week? It followed the Constitution. Imagine that. Mark continues to review an important week of Court decisions. And, yes, the left goes berserk in response. The left is just beside itself with this week’s Supreme Court decisions, most of which leaned right. For the left the sky is always falling. If it’s not, who would pay attention to them?... With all our national troubles, there is much to be celebrate this Independence Day. The affirmative action, free speech, and school loan decisions are three good examples. End of Affirmative Action
The Supreme Court finally declares affirmative action, one of the most counter-productive policies of the last half-century, to be unconstitutional. The Left immediately moves to “the sky is falling” mode… Affirmative Action has caused much more harm than good. The Supreme Court has wisely ended it. Merit should be the only standard... The vote was 6-3, the three leftists on the court dissenting… How long before colleges dream up a new ways to get around this decision?...Dennis talks to Joseph Fornieri, professor of political science at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He presents their new PragerU video and the latest installment in our Presidents series. “Franklin Pierce: A Torn President in a Torn Country. Dennis talks to Robert Lighthizer, a member of President Trump’s cabinet as the United States Trade Representative. His new book is No Trade Is Free: Changing Course, Taking on China, and Helping America's Workers. Thanks for listening to the Daily Dennis Prager Podcast. Russia Now
Julie Hartman guest hosts for Dennis… Julie talks to Matthew Schmidt, foreign policy specialist with an emphasis on Russia… They discuss the aborted coup attempted last weekend and what it means for Putin and Russia. Everywhere we go, we are confronted with the political. There is no escape because the Left is all political, all the time… Are Republicans really banning books? Or is this another leftist lie? Julie analyzes a book that deeply influenced Dennis: Viktor Frankl’s classic text “Man’s Search for Meaning.” Frankl lived through the Holocaust and this experience shaped his life. Yesterday and Today
Are things better or worse today than they were, say, 10, 15, 20, 50, or even 100 years ago? It’s not an easy question to answer. It really depends on the specific time and the specific subject… A small group of Neo-Nazis make some noise in front of a synagogue in Georgia. It’s much ado about nothing. These Neo-Nazis are true losers. They have zero influence. Dennis doesn’t let compliments go to his head or insults to his heart. An emailer from Portugal explains how much Dennis has meant to his life… The only thing that bothers Dennis is when people lie about him... In addition to encouraging abortion, Planned Parenthood is involved in the sexualization of children. How can there be a good God and so much evil and suffering in the world? This has been an issue religious Jews and Christians have wrestled with for centuries. Thanks for listening to the Daily Dennis Prager Podcast. Putin on the Ritz
Vladimir Putin survived a short-lived coup this weekend. Is his power diminished? If so, what does that mean?... The Mayo Clinic suspends one of its doctors for having the temerity to assert that men have an advantage over women in sports… Dennis talks to John Eastman, former legal advisor to President Trump; former law professor at Chapman Univ. The CA bar is trying to take away his law license. To support John’s defense fund, go to givesendgo.com/Eastman. Dennis returns to the Mayo Clinic story. They’ve punished a doctor who said the obvious: men are stronger than women… The controversy over closing an academic center at Arizona State U. after they brought Dennis to speak there hasn’t died… For the first time, countries are afraid of American ideas like the cult of transgenderism. Dennis talks to John Yoo, Univ. of CA, Berkeley, professor of Law. His new book is The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Supreme Court… Ten years ago Serena Williams said all that needs to be said about men competing against women in sports. Dennis & Julie: Spiritual Disneyland
Dennis and Julie ask… is doing the podcast work …or fun? or both? Dennis has a test to see if you’re really a transwoman. CA bill aimed at protecting LGBTQ+ youth compelling parents to affirm their child's gender identity or face consequences. Julie predicts that there will be there will be a reckoning for all of this gender confusion. What is best for an individual versus what is best for society? We should be doing things that benefit society for future generations …we have lost gratitude for past generations. One solution may be acknowledgement of goodness when you witness it. Dennis recalls the Hebrew phrase mitzvah goreret mitzvah, averah goreret averah, "one good deed will bring another good deed, one transgression will bring another transgression." Julie shares some quotes from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte that make the case for religion, and the fundamental differences between Leftism and conservatism. In the United States we are amusing ourselves to death… we are now consumers of amusement, not producers of amusement. We are lost in escapism and pacifying ourselves. Dennis reiterates that clothing matters… you can’t show up to a date looking like a peasant. Implosion
The fate of the Titanic sub has now become known. There was a catastrophic implosion. Death would have been instantaneous. That is a mercy. Dennis muses on this disaster — what it means in a larger context… Adam Schiff, serial liar, is censored by the House. He deserves it and much more… Chris Rufo talks to a doctor who works at a Children’s Hospital that encourages “gender affirming care.” What did your parents do that helped you to become a happy person? Dennis has thoughts. So do callers. Per usual callers set the agenda. Issues raised include: how do you deal with lost child; is fighting part of hockey; what motivates the left; why are the Greens against economic prosperity.
