Dennis and Julie discuss compartmentalizing.  Some topics are holiday dinner wreckers: politics, religion, and family issues.  Manners certainly matter… some people just cannot read the room or control themselves.  There are two types of unhappy people, and unhappy people who want others to be unhappy – narcissism.  How rare a commodity is self-awareness?  Take for instance the slow driver is the fast lane… why… are they oblivious or is it on purpose.  If people saw their bad behavior on video, would they change it?  Are the days of Norman Rockwell painting holiday dinners gone?  We have macro-ized feelings.  Discomfort in life is a feature not a bug.  One of the great ambitions one can have… is to be easy in other people’s lives.  What is the relationship between feeling underappreciated and wreaking havoc.  Some people need control and some desire to control others.  For Dennis it comes down to feelings versus behavior.  People don’t control themselves… because they don’t want to control themselves. The almighty Dr. Fauci is no longer faithful to his Catholic upbringing. That’s fine. His choice. The Columbia University student newspaper wrote a story on Dennis’s appearance. They describe him as a Columbia graduate school “dropout.” If you think this reveals the tone of the article, you would be right… The LA Times publishes an op-ed from a Gaza teen who laments that she can’t go to college and lives in fear. The four Republicans on the stage last night threw insults at each other. It wasn’t a good look for the party or the candidates… CA governor Gavin Newsom is so afraid of Pro-Hamas protests that he has decided to make the annual Christmas tree lighting virtual.  The President of the National Women’s Law Center defends the idea that men should be able to compete against women. You have to go to college (and then law school) to be this foolish… Our southern border is open. Dennis gave his talk at Columbia last night. There were no disruptions. As a result, he was able to have an excellent dialogue with students… Graduate school applications now ask what you have done to promote the cause of “social justice.”…Elite university presidents can’t conclusively say that calling for the genocide of Jews constitutes “harassment.”  Men need women. And women need men. We shouldn't want to lose this essential truth. The Met Opera was interrupted by protestors screaming nonsense about global warming. A mob of pro-Hamas supporters shouted antisemitic slogans in front of Philadelphia deli. Why are these demonstrations a feature of the left?... George Santos was expelled from the House. He was convicted of no crimes. The Ethics committee did not recommend kicking him out, but the House — Democrats and Republicans — did it anyway. This sets a terrible precedent.  You can divide the world into those who build and those who destroy… The Canadian economy has been moribund since Justin Trudeau became premier… Military recruitment is way down. The governor of Florida debated the governor of California last night. They drew a sharp contrast. DeSantis pounded the facts. Newsom slipped and slided around the truth.
