Ian Vaillancourt, Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew and author working on a Pillar commentary on 1–2 Samuel, guides listeners through Samuel’s literary shape and theological purpose. He traces Hannah’s story and songs, explains the ark narratives, contrasts Saul and David, outlines a four-part reading of David’s rise and failures, and shows how the Samuel story points forward to the Davidic king fulfilled in Christ.
