Mia explains why we're lifting our Pete ban to talk about his latest controversy.  Plus, the 8 hour workday was a concept thought up by one man 100 years ago, so why have we barely questioned it since? A burnout coach has gone viral on TikTok for highlighting the origins of the 8 hour working day, suggesting the framework is tragically outdated. The Salad Rule

This week, the NSW Premier came out in support of a push to change the lyrics of Advance Australia Fair, from "for we are young and free" to "for we are ONE and free." As NAIDOC week draws to a close, how do First Nations people feel about the issue and how can we take steps forward towards reconciliation? Plus, an elegance coach has released a video about all the ways in which we’re exhibiting poor etiquette when eating out. Her main rules include never fixing makeup at the table or blowing our nose in public. Jessie explains how we're all doing it wrong. And, our best & worst of the week, including Emily getting 'soundboarded' on a date - where one person fills the time talking only about themselves. THE END BITS Recommendations: You can listen to today's episode of The Quicky here, to learn more about the issue of the national anthem. Jessie wants you to check out Indigenous artist, Natalie Jade. You can donate to help crowd-fund the Bowraville doco here. Listen to the trailer for Mamamia's new podcast, The Undone, here. The Canberra Sex Bubble

Monday night’s Four Corners episode discussed the culture for women in Australian politics with investigations into the conduct of two senior Liberal politicians. Holly asks the question, does it matter if our leaders are good people? Or do they just need to do their jobs and deliver for the people of Australia? Plus, Jessie goes rogue and decides to talk about the breakdown of the marriage between Phil Collins and Orianne Cevey. Cevey says that while they were together, Phil Collins refused to shower for almost an entire year, didn’t brush his teeth for several months, was impotent, drank heavily and took prescription pills...leading to a discussion about privacy and post-break-up ethics.  And, a 2014 memo from Joe Biden to his staff has resurfaced. It details how the now-President-Elect urged his staff to prioritise family events over work. But is that a realistic standard to set in 2020? THE END BITS Recommendations: Holly wants you to read The Yield. You can watch the Four Corners ep about Canberra here, on ABC iView. The Woman The World Is Talking About Today

Joe Biden has (finally) secured enough votes in the U.S election to be declared the winner, making Kamala Harris Vice President Elect. As celebrations around Biden's win continue, it's his running mate everyone is talking about. Kamala Harris is the first woman elected Vice President, she's also the first black VP and someone we're tipped to spend the next four years being obsessed with. Plus, Yesterday was Remembrance Sunday in Britain, when the royal family leads the country in tributes to troops from World War One, Two and more recent conflicts. Reports have emerged that Harry wanted a wreath laid in his honour at the event, but the Queen said NO. Holly asks the question, are Harry and Meghan still relevant?  And, a listener dilemma from a concerned sister many of us can relate to, about breaking the cycle of a toxic, on-again-off-again relationship. A lot of us are doing it without even noticing, the apology sandwich refers to minimising our own hardships in a world where we know plenty of people have it a lot worse.
