"Unhinged"

For this week's main podcast review I don't have my regular podcasting crew. Instead, I am joined by guests Rafael Motamayor & Nate Adams. Together, we are reviewing the film that was supposed to be the first movie audiences see in a theater (and for some, it still is), "Unhinged" starring Russell Crowe. What do we think of the first offering from Solstice Studios? Are people ready to go back to movie theaters? Is this the film to bring them back? Find out our thoughts on the cultural conversation and the movie itself down below. Check out more on NextBestPicture.com Please subscribe on... Interview With "Boys State" Directors, Amanda McBaine & Jesse Moss

"Boys State" premiered earlier this year the Sundance Film Festival where it won U.S. Documentary Competition Grand Jury Prize. An A24 production, it got picked up by Apple and is now streaming exclusively on Apple TV+. The documentary follows a thousand teenage boys attending the Boys/Girls State program in Texas. Their goal is to put their political differences aside and come together to build a representative government from the ground up over the course of a week. The documentary's directors, Amanda McBaine and Jesse Moss, were kind enough to sit down and chat with us about how they came to the project, working on it and film's reception so far. Take a listen below! Check out more on NextBestPicture.com Please subscribe on... "Boyhood"

THIS IS A PREVIEW PODCAST. NOT THE FULL REVIEW. Please check out the full review on our Patreon Page by subscribing over at - https://www.patreon.com/NextBestPicture The 2014 retrospective is coming to an end. We have now come to Richard Linklater's 12-year- long opus "Boyhood" starring Ellar Coltrane, Patricia Arquette, and Ethan Hawke. Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014 to universal critical acclaim, the gigantic independent film (shot over the course of 12 years) could not maintain its momentum until Oscar night where it lost Best Picture and Best Director, only winning one award for Patricia Arquette in the Best Supporting Actress category. Remembered for being a bridesmaid, how does the film hold up today? Was the praise warranted? I am joined by Dan Bayer and Patreon guests Isaiah Washington & Mike Pisa-Kino to discuss. Interviews With "She Dies Tomorrow" Writer/Director Amy Seimetz & Stars Kate Lyn Sheil & Jane Adams

"She Dies Tomorrow" is a psychologically terrifying new film from writer/director Amy Seimetz that was meant to premiere at this year's South By Southwest film festival. The movie is now available to stream digitally this weekend on VOD and has already gained a lot of critical acclaim for its intriguing premise, the creative vision from Seimetz and the performances of the ensemble. Seimetz and two of the film's stars, Kate Lyn Shiel and Jane Adams, sat with us to talk about their experience of working on the film. Take a listen below. Next Best Adaptation - "Death On The Nile" By Agatha Christie

THIS IS A PREVIEW PODCAST. NOT THE FULL REVIEW. Please check out the full review on our Patreon Page by subscribing over at - https://www.patreon.com/NextBestPicture Next Best Adaptation is back where we review the source material of the year's potential Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar contenders. Last time, we looked at "Rebecca" by Daphne Du Maurier, and this time we are taking a look at Agatha Christie's mystery novel "Death On The Nile" which will be released on October 21st by Netflix. Directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh as the returning Hercule Poirot, it serves as a sequel to his 2017 film "Murder On The Orient Express." It will surely not only be compared to the source material but to the 1978 film of the same name. We mostly focus on the book here but also touch on the 1978 adaptation and what we hope for with Branagh's latest. Joining me for this podcast I have Will Mavity and Dan Bayer.
