"The Trial Of The Chicago 7"
For this week's main review, I am joined by Josh Parham, Nicole Ackman, Ryan C. Showers, Lauren LaMagna & Cody Dericks. Together, we are discussing the latest film from Netflix, and one of the year's biggest Oscar contenders "The Trial Of The Chicago 7" written and directed by Aaron Sorkin and starring Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Mark Rylance, Jeremy Strong, Frank Langella, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and a bunch more! Released during one of the most political years of our lifetimes, the timing of this movie could not be any more relevant. How does it hold up though? What do we think of the performances? Sorkin's writing and directing? Find out below in our review.Check out more on NextBestPicture.comPlease subscribe on...SoundCloud - https://soundcloud.com/nextbestpicturepodcastiTunes Podcasts - https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/negs-best-film-podcast/id1087678387?mt=2Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/7IMIzpYehTqeUa1d9EC4jTAnd be sure to help support us on Patreon for as little as $1 a month at https://www.patreon.com/NextBestPicture Learn more about your ad choices. Interview With "Shithouse" Director, Writer, Producer, Editor & Star, Cooper Raiff
There's always excitement in the air when you feel like you're watching the emergence of a new creative talent on the scene and that's exactly how I felt with Cooper Raiff's directorial debut "Shithouse," which won the Grand Jury prize at this year's South By Southwest for Best Narrative feature. Conducting the duties as star, writer, director, producer and editor on the film, Cooper certainly had his hands full on this film and he was kind enough to spend a few minutes talking to us about that, what it was like working with Dylan Gelula, getting Jay Duplass on board early and more! Take a listen below and be sure to check out the film, available now!Check out more on NextBestPicture.comPlease subscribe on...SoundCloud - https://soundcloud.com/nextbestpicturepodcastiTunes Podcasts - https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/negs-best-film-podcast/id1087678387?mt=2Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/7IMIzpYehTqeUa1d9EC4jTAnd be sure to help support us on Patreon for as little as $1 a month at https://www.patreon.com/NextBestPicture Learn more about your ad choices. A screwball comedy with religious symbolism and many memorable scenes, how does it all come together for the Next Best Picture team? Joining me to discuss I have Nicole Ackman, Michael Schwartz, Josh Parham, Dan Bayer, Ryan C. Showers & Patreon guest Paul Meredith. Take a listen below and let us know what you think. Interview With "The Forty-Year-Old Version" Cinematographer, Eric Branco
"The Forty-Year-Old Version" bursted onto the scene at Sundance earlier this year to tremendous buzz and acclaim. While most of the praise has been directed towards the film's star, director, writer and producer, Radha Blank, cinematographer Eric Branco has also be singled out for his black and white photography of New York City which helps to give the film an early 90s independent feeling. Eric was kind enough to talk with Next Best Picture about his process into making the film, how he came aboard the project, working with Radha and more! "The Forty-Year-Old Version"
For this week's main review, I am joined by Josh Parham, Dan Bayer & Cody Dericks. Together, we are discussing the latest film from Netflix, "The Forty-Year-Old Version" starring, written, directed and produced by Radha Blank. Premiering earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival where Blank won the Best Directing prize, the film is a singular vision from a unique voice on the indie filmmaking scene and quote possibly, the breakout of the year. Take a listen to our thoughts as we discuss one of the year's most buzzed about independent films and the promise it shows for the film's creator.Check out more on NextBestPicture.comPlease subscribe on...SoundCloud - https://soundcloud.com/nextbestpicturepodcastiTunes Podcasts - https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/negs-best-film-podcast/id1087678387?mt=2Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/7IMIzpYehTqeUa1d9EC4jTAnd be sure to help support us on Patreon for as little as $1 a month at https://www.patreon.com/NextBestPicture Learn more about your ad choices.
