Together we're reviewing the final installment in the "Halloween" trilogy from director David Gordon Green, "Halloween Ends" starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak, James Jude Courtney, Will Patton, Rohan Campbell & Kyle Richards. Interviews With "Decision To Leave" Director/Writer, Park Chan-wook & Star, Park Hae-il
"Decision To Leave" is one of the year's most buzzed-about films ever since its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. In the much-anticipated follow-up film to "The Handmaiden," writer/director Park Chan-wook has crafted a femme fatale romance with his usual quirky humor, twists, and precise filmmaking. He won the Best Director prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and the film has now been selected as South Korea's official submission for this year's Best International Feature Film Oscar race. Park Chan-wook and his leading man Park Hae-il were kind enough to chat with me about the film as they both discussed working with the film's leading actress Tang-Wei, and what it was like shooting the climatic scene on the beach during high tide, and more. Please make sure to see the film now playing in theaters from MUBI; take a listen down below and enjoy! Thank you. The film has spurred many conversations around its themes about cancel culture, Cate Blanchett's towering performance, and Field's direction. What did we think of the film? Interview With "Triangle Of Sadness" Star, Dolly De Leon
"Triangle Of Sadness" is one of the year's most entertaining films. After winning the Palme d'Or at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, audiences are finally getting the chance to experience Ruben Östlund's scathingly vicious takedown of the rich and powerful in his first English-language film. One of the many reasons why the film works as well as it does is because of the character Abigail, played by Filipina actress Dolly De Leon. She was kind enough to spend time talking with me about her role in the film, how she came on board, working with the late Charlbi Dean, what she has coming up next, and more! Please make sure to see the film now playing in theaters with the biggest crowd you can; take a listen down below and enjoy! "Bros"
For this week's main podcast review, I am joined by Josh Parham & Dan Bayer. Together we're reviewing the newest film from Nicholas Stoller, "Bros," starring Billy Eichner, Luke Macfarlane, Harvey Fierstein, Ts Madison, Monica Raymund, Guillermo Díaz, Guy Branum, Amanda Bearse, Jim Rash & Bowen Yang. The first major studio film with an all-gay cast, the romantic comedy, written by Stoller and Eichner, is making history and knows it too as it presents a modern rom-com that understands the LGBTQ+ history that came before it and what will hopefully come after its release. What did we think of the characters, the writing, the jokes, and how it portrays gay romantic relationships? Please take a listen down below and enjoy! Thank you! Interview With "God's Creatures" Directors, Salea Davis & Anna Rose Holmer
"God's Creatures" is the first time filmmakers and frequent collaborators Sales Davis and Anna Rose Holmer share directorial credit on a film. Following their previous film, "The Fits," the duo are one of the most exciting pairs working in the field today, and that continues with this psychological drama that premiered earlier this year at Cannes. Davis and Rose Holmer were kind enough to talk with us about directing the three main performances from Emily Watson, Paul Mescal, and Aisling Franciosi, how much of a vital role sound plays in the film, and what they have coming up next. We hope you will check out the film, which is now playing in theaters and available on demand from A24. Please take a listen down below. Thank you! The much-anticipated (or, in some cases, dreaded) fictional biopic film on Marilyn Monroe is finally streaming on Netflix and has brought up much controversy related to its NC-17 rating. What did we ultimately think of the filmmaking, Ana de Armas' performance, the writing, and graphic content? We discuss all of these points and more in our review, which you can listen to down below.
