Housing Minister James Browne has said the Government will “liberalise” existing rules around one-off homes in rural Ireland, in an interview with the Sunday Independent.Anton discusses this further with Brendan O’Sullivan,  Chartered planner and Senior Lecturer in Dept of Planning at UCC.

71 per cent of people fear modern cars with more in-built screens and tech are leading to more driver distraction, according to the latest poll by the Sunday Independent and Ireland Thinks. Speaking to Anton this morning was Shane O'Donoghue, Editor with completecar.ie.

Male workers expect a salary of €64,000 when they apply for a job, compared with €53,000 for women, according to new research from IrishJobs.ie. To discuss these research findings we heard from Emma Howard, Economist with Technological University Dublin. 

Only 57pc of people are paying traditional providers like Sky and Virgin Media. This is compared with 70pc three years ago according to a ComReg survey of 3,000 adults. Adrian Weckler Technology editor Irish Independent has written about this today and joined Anton to discuss further.

Enterprise Minister Peter Burke later today will meet energy industry representatives and suppliers over allegations of price-gouging One of those representatives is Kevin McPartland, Chief Executive of Fuels for Ireland and Kevin spoke to Anton ahead of this meeting.

It has now been seven days since the US and Israel launched new missile attacks on Iran. With the death toll on the ground rising and Western countries grappling to repatriate people home, uncertainty on the future course of hostilities remains.  For an update on this Anton spoke to Hooshang Amirahmadi, Founder founder of the American Iranian Council and former Iranian presidential Candidate and also Security Analyst, Independent Senator and former army officer, Tom Clonan.
