She leads the city’s economic development agency with the support of six general managers who lead teams in pillars that each support a vital part of the agency’s work.Ali has a background in economic development, having led New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s work in Europe and before that, in the South Island. She is Not Your Rehab with Matt BrownI had the absolute honour of sitting down with my friend Matt Brown to talk about his life, the lessons he has learnt and his life’s mission. Matt Brown, is a New Zealand born Samoan and an author, communicator, an internationally acclaimed barber and hair artist; known for giving great cuts and inspiring great men.He is a survivor of family violence and childhood sexual abuse and shares his story with the men who frequent his busy Christchurch barbershop, My Fathers Barbers, as a way to foster vulnerability, healing, and connection. Since 2018, Matt and his wife Sarah, have partnered with the Ministry of Social Development as ambassadors for their ‘It’s not OK Campaign’. Together they co-founded She Is Not Your Rehab and launched the concept in Matt’s 2019 TEDx talk. Partnering the Virgin Way with Jean Oelwang Todays episode is one I am so excited for.
