Murderer Released on Bond, Kills 23-year-old Summer Chester

Summer Chester died in January this year, in a hit-and-run car accident. The other driver, Jonathan Vera, ran a traffic signal. He is now charged with manslaughter in this case, but Vera is also facing other charges. Vera was arrested on capital murder charges after a deadly home invasion. He spent two years in jail, held on $250,000 bond. In March of last year, 351st Criminal District Court Judge Natalia Cornelio lowered Vera's bond, to $50,000. Serial Killer Uses Shopping Cart to Dump Victims Bodies

The bodies of five women are now linked to a serial killer dubbed the "shopping cart killer." Anthony Robinson, 35, is charged with two of the murders, but more counts are expected. Investigators believe Robinson met his victims through dating websites, then in at least four cases, lured them to a motel he is known to stay.Police said video surveillance and cell phone records connect Robinson to the deaths. He can be seen on surveillance video with some of the victims and then is seen moving the bodies using a shopping cart.Police in 35 jurisdictions are looking at their unsolved murders for connections. Boys beat step-dad dead after he molests little sister

A rancher finds Gabriel Quintanilla beaten, in a field outside McAllen, Texas. The 42-year-old dies of blunt force trauma to the head. An investigation uncovers a warrant for Quintanilla on charges of continuous sexual assault of a child and assault, family violence. This is after Quintanilla's 9-year-old daughter accuses him of inappropriately touching her. Police said the girl's teen stepbrothers, Christian, and Alejandro Trevino, learn of the accusations and confront Quintanilla, leading to a fight. Quintanilla reportedly then left the area on foot. A second fight occurred when Christian Trevino allegedly chased Quintanilla. At some point, Alejandro Trevino arrived in a car driven by friend Juan Eduardo Melendez, 18. The two other teens reportedly joined in on the attack. Quintanilla was then attacked a third time. Police believe brass knuckles were used. Body Bags: A Drive With Daddy

A meal with Daddy at Chick-fil-A... that's what 22-month-old Cooper Harris enjoys the June morning that he dies. Father Justin Ross Harris, 41, takes his son to breakfast, and then instead of turning toward the daycare to drop off his son, Harris drives to work, parks his SUV in the lot and heads inside. The little boy is still strapped in his car seat. The temperatures that day are over 90 degrees outside, and 125 degrees in the car, according to experts. Cooper Harris suffers heatstroke and dies. Justin Ross Harris returns from lunch, stops to put a purchase inside the car, but doesn't see his son inside. The discovery of the body happens that evening as Harris is driving home. He pulls over into a parking lot, unlocking the lifeless body of his only child from it's restraints. Harris is charged and convicted of eight counts including malice murder. A judge sentences him to life without parole as well as 32 more years in prison. Now the killer dad is asking for a new trial. The body of 13-year-old Minnie Soriano is found by a homeless man in a dumpster. The girl has been sex abused and strangled. Now after 22 years, 49-year-old Joseph Martinez has been arrested. Officials allege that Martinez, who teaches astronomy on the street, knew Soriano because he lived in her building. The teen also had an interest in astronomy and wanted to be an astronaut.
