John Altman is a BAFTA and EMMY winning film composer, arranger and musician. His feature films include the award-winning Little Voice, he wrote all the period music for Titanic, the classic tank chase in Goldeneye, he arranged Always Look on the Bright Side of Life from The Life Of Brian, RKO281 (EMMY winner), Hear My Song (BAFTA winner), Shall We Dance starring Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez, Funny Bones, Vendetta, Breaking Through starring Diane Keaton, Hope Springs starring Colin Firth, Minnie Driver and Heather Graham and The Roman Spring of Mrs Stone starring Helen Mirren for which he received an EMMY Nomination. He was Van Morrison‘s MD for years and Hot Chocolate‘s MD and sax player. Lorelei King is one of the most successful and accomplished American actresses working in the UK today. Caitlin O’Ryan is an actor who is best known from the international smash hit TV series, Outlander, where she plays series regular, Lizzie Wemyss, the handmaid. Caitlin is a graduate of The Oxford School of Drama, which has produced many top actors. Outlander was her professional debut but in her final year at drama school she appeared in The Lights at The Royal Court and followed this with If and When at Soho Theatre, directed by Blythe Stewart. Ep. 259 - Tommy Cannon

Tommy Cannon was one half of the legendary comic double act, Cannon and Ball, until his friend and partner, Bobby Ball’s sad death in 2020. Cannon and Ball’s prime time Saturday night television series, the Cannon and Ball Show, was one of ITV’s most successful series, it ran for twelve years with audiences often as high as twenty million viewers. They even made their own film, The Boys In Blue, in 1982. Tommy and Bobby went on to make their own games show, appeared in the fifth series of I’m a Celebrity, Shooting Stars with Bob Mortimer and Vic Reeves, Last of the Summer Wine, on the Kenny Everett Television Show, and appeared together in a Christmas Special of Lee Mack’s BBC comedy, Not Going Out. Tommy has also played a regular character in the ITV soap, Emmerdale. One liner comedian Mark Simmons, is probably best known for his multiple appearances on the satirical comedy show, Mock the Week. He was voted the best act by UK Comics’ Comic 2022 and was included in Dave’s top 10 jokes at the Edinburgh Fringe. His Edinburgh show, One linerer, was a sell out hit in 2017 and he followed it up with One Linererer, which was also a sell out. Ep. 257 - Ronnie Golden

Ronnie Golden is a musician, composer, and stand up comedian. Ronnie started as a teenage guitarist, opening shows for Tom Jones, Scott Walker and Engelbert Humperdinck. He worked with David Bowie in his Beckenham Arts Lab days then went on to form the cult new wave group, Fabulous Poodles who outsold both The Clash and The Jam in America in the early 80’s. After that he was doing stand-up as a member of the Comic Strip with regulars Rik Mayall, Ben Elton, French and Saunders and Alexei Sayle. He was in the first series of BBC 2’s The Young Ones as Buddy Holly, hanging from the ceiling in his parachute. His voice was regularly heard on Spitting Image as Roger Daltry, Mick Jagger and many more. His comedy double act with his friend Barry Cryer yielded several successful Edinburgh shows and a live cd, Rock ‘N’ Droll. Ep. 254 - Jim Sweeney

Jim Sweeney is a member of the world famous improvisational group the Comedy Store Players, with other members including Paul Merton, Josie Lawrence, Neil Mullarkey, Richard Vranch, Sandi Toksvig and Jeremy Hardy with many celebrity guests such as Eddie Izzard, Caroline Quentin, Phil Jupitus, Greg Proops and Mike Myers. He’s been in Who's Line Is It Anyway?, Blackadder, One Foot In the Grave, Kiss Me Kate, and on radio was in Just a Minute, All the Young Dudes and the improvised comedy, The Masterson Inheritance. In 1985, Jim was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a progressive disease which disrupts the ability of parts of the nervous system to transmit signals.
