The first study used a healthy Whole Foods plant-based diet and showed a marked reduction in symptoms. The second study was randomized to a typical Western diet and a Whole Foods plant-based diet and showed significant improvement within 6 weeks. The last study used meal replacement shakes to achieve impressive weight loss and also improvement in symptoms that went beyond the expected weight-bearing joints.
