Surviving a double attempted homicide while 8 months pregnant with Agape Garcia
Surviving a double attempted homicide while 8 months pregnant with Agape Garcia. Her survival of a double attempted homicide while 8 months pregnant (by the father) and the desperation to survive became the catalyst to the foundation of BYIS while achieving an undisputed outlook of independence. During her journey to overcome, Garcia learned that extreme independence is a trauma driven response and a natural one which can be defeated through focused, self awareness and intentional control. Through her own walk, harsh lessons brought on by extreme independence resulted in areas of her life being sabotaged repeatedly. Her personal journey of post traumatic growth has led Garcia to dedicating her life in developing transformational programs, various forms of coaching, certification courses and establishing a nonprofit to help real time victims. Her commitment is to provide lifelong transformational habits that can restore your powerful internal sense of control. One of her personal statements, 'You don't live anywhere but in your head' is why some of her laser focus teachings are on aligning your mental and emotional belief system. As her passion grew from her own personal struggles, Garcia became active within the community receiving a Mayoral appointment to work with the Citizen Review board in direct conjunction with Internal Affairs. She received hands-on training from the Sheriff's department, Department of Homeland Security, and FEMA which also led to the Infrastructure Liaison Officer designation (ILO), through the local Law Enforcement Center. Garcia has spent more than 20 years in the corporate world holding positions in Office Administration, Project Management, Compliance, Policy writing, Team building, Training, Leadership, and Consulting. She continued to serve other organizations including the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), and Board of Directors and holds current membership in the FBI vetted private sector program of InfraGard. As VP of a Security Consultant Company, she has developed programs with leadership responsibility for security and emergency management. These emphasize awareness toward identifying different stages of human behavior leading towards violence mitigation. While working, attending school, and raising her kids as a single parent, her personal priorities of housing, safety and privacy for her children were of utmost importance. This required Garcia to navigate through various self-help centers, state, city, local programs, systems and assistance to create a stable foundation for her family while providing the ability to assist others. She also volunteers and collaborates with local law writer(s), in support of bills under Public Safety. Garcia believes in the need to feel loved, wanted, and cared for as a part of life in all of us. Living through emotional tugs of war and learning to apply a controlled healthy mindset to overcome voids, shortcomings, and to break unhealthy cycles is who she is today versus the opposite of where she came from. Today, she prides herself on meeting the daily challenges of being vulnerable and safe at the same time while empowering others to Be Your Incredible Self. Garcia's personal mission is to help lead others in transforming their survival of Domestic Violence (DV) into Post Traumatic Growth and to mitigate the depletion of resources for real-time victims. Sharing her personal testimony has empowered so many others. She loves teaching her BYIS formula of: How to combine Situational Awareness with Emotional Intelligence to control your triggers.

How to become disruption proof and empower yourself and other with New York Times best selling author Brant Cooper
How to become disruption proof and empower yourself and other with New York Times best selling author Brant Cooper Endless Disruption COVID-19, supply chain collapse, climate change, ransomware attacks—our world is filled with uncertainty brought on by increased complexity and endless disruption. Global interconnectedness, computers in our pockets, information moving at the speed of light means change is continuous and happens on the edge—outside in the real world—versus around tables in the boardroom. But the way we structure and manage our institutions—business, education, government—is based on the assembly line era of the Industrial Age. We need a new way forward. "Gone are the days of hierarchical, command-and-control, execution-minded, output-driven management. Here are the days of working with speed and agility, with empathy, vulnerability, and the empowerment of people. Here, too, are the days of less hierarchy while still maintaining some hierarchy; accountability, but with new metrics; and leadership that rallies people, both for their own benefit and that of the world." We must become disruption-proof. Disruption-Proof organizations are RAD: Resilient, Aware and Dynamic. They operate based on 5 Elements: Empathy – understand customers and employees deeply Exploration – admit to what's not known and search for answers Evidence – leverage data and insights to cut through biases Equilibrium – balance execution and exploration work Ethics – act legally and maintain core values and in work

A possible recovery health and solution with Sean Entin and Dr. David Silverman
A possible recovery solution with Sean Entin and Dr. David Silverman Sean Entin: Sean has had a life that many would call successful: at just 21years old he was already on the cover of the Business Section of the Los Angeles Times and was participating in USC's entrepreneurship program. He has produced 3 released films and other content, and has also worked with Los Angeles Center Studios. When the stock market crashed in 2008, Sean accepted an offer to become a managing partner of Greenhouse Holdings, which focused on financing sustainable residential housing. He and his other partners soon expanded the company into the commercial and military sectors. During this time, Sean was also mentoring Navy Seals transitioning from military to civilian life in the business world. Suddenly, in November 2011, all of these accomplishments no longer mattered. At age 39, Sean suffered a stroke from a massive blood clot in his carotid artery. He was induced into a coma for 10 days and had to undergo several surgeries. Doctors predicted he would never speak, walk, or live a normal life again. I can, I shall, I will. This mantra helped him through the most difficult times in his life. Even with this diagnosis, Sean displayed unwavering strength and spent his next years rehabilitating his soul and body—overcoming the mental barrier of "why me?"—proving to himself and everyone else that he had a purpose in life, that he was chosen for a reason, and that he had the motivation to keep going for even more. After many years of carefully following all kinds of recommendations and advice in order to regain his independence and having failed and succeeded with many of those treatments, Sean now knew what worked and what didn't… He had finally managed to hack his stroke. He was now a different person, full of understanding, compassion, humility, and an example of inspiration in times of trouble. His life had changed. He was starting over… with many more obstacles, but with a motivation bigger than himself: to help others. Thus, the Stroke Hacker Community was born. Many people were inspired by his story, and those who went through a similar journey reached out to him for help and advice. Now, those who have suffered from brain injuries have a place where they can share their stories, their accomplishments, and their own tips for improving their overall health and wellness. Guided by Sean, they have discovered their sense of purpose and hope and are getting closer and closer to their recoveries, their independence, and everything they dream of getting back. Dr. David Silverman: I have a purpose-driven, home-based & international business, fueled by an exquisite & patented health breakthrough through which I help people live (and thrive and earn) to their full potential. Dr. Silverman began investigating ASEA REDOX Cell Signaling Supplement. Soon he was sharing it with family and friends. He says that the secret to success with this business is developing personal belief in four things: The product, the company, network marketing, and yourself. "If you can't believe in any one of these four areas, it's going to be much harder for you to win at this. If you're weak in any of these aspects, you've got to work on your own belief first, before you can expect someone else to believe in what you're sharing with them." One way to grow stronger in all these areas, according to Dr. Silverman, is to attend a corporate convention. "You'll meet other people and hear their stories," he says. "You'll meet the founders and see what good men they are. You'll really start to understand the company as a whole and see the big picture and the vision." Beyond that, Dr. Silverman has the following daily suggestions for associates. "First, work on your own self-motivation," he says. "Be coachable. Be a genuinely nice person. Understand upfront that you will need a lot of patience because success won't happen overnight. If you are consistent with your commitment and you listen to your upline and you work hard, then no matter how long it takes, you'll get there. You'll reach your goals and change lives, starting with your own."

How To Climb Mount Everest with Two Holes in Your Heart with Author and Adventurer Alison Levine
How To Climb Mount Everest with Two Holes in Your Heart with Author and Adventurer Alison Levine • Team Captain, American Women's Everest Expedition • Faculty, Thayer Leader Development Group at West Point • New York Times best-selling author of On the Edge • Documentary film-maker Alison Levine is a history-making polar explorer and mountaineer. She served as team captain of the first American Women's Everest Expedition, climbed the highest peak on each continent and skied to both the North and South Poles—a feat known as the Adventure Grand Slam—which only twenty people in the world have achieved. In January 2008, she made history as the first American to complete a 600-mile traverse across west Antarctica to the South Pole following the route of legendary explorer Reinhold Messner. Levine completed this arduous journey on skis while hauling 150 pounds of her gear and supplies in a sled harnessed to her waist. She made history again in 2016 when she completed two first ascents: Hall Peak in Antarctica and Khang Karpo in Nepal. Her success in extreme environments is noteworthy given she has had three heart surgeries and suffers from Raynaud's disease, which causes the arteries that feed her fingers and toes to collapse in cold weather—leaving her at extreme risk for frostbite. In addition to climbing mountains, Levine has also spent time climbing the corporate ladder. She has worked for several Fortune 500 companies in both sales and marketing roles and spent three years in finance at Goldman Sachs. She left Wall Street in 2003 to serve as Deputy Finance Director for Arnold Schwarzenegger in his successful bid to become governor of California. When not challenging herself in the outdoors, Levine focuses on training others to become strong leaders. She spent four years as an adjunct professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point in the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership. In 2013 she transitioned from training cadets to working with corporate leaders and currently serves on the board and faculty of the Thayer Leadership Group at West Point—one of the nation's premiere executive leader development programs. She was a contributing author to the book Leadership in Dangerous Situations: A Handbook for the Armed Forces, Emergency Services and First Responders (Naval Institute Press). She also served as a board member and Senior Fellow at the Coach K Center on Leadership & Ethics at Duke University. Levine is the founder of the Climb High Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of jobless women in western Uganda by training them to be trekking guides and porters in their local mountains, thus allowing them to earn a sustainable living wage through climbing-related tourism. Prior to her work in Uganda, women's only avenue to earn money in this area of the country was through prostitution. Her efforts enabled the very first group of local women to climb Uganda's highest peak—Mt Stanley. Her work to change the lives of women in Africa is the subject of the PBS documentary Living Courageously. In 2019, Levine was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor which has been officially recognized by both Houses of Congress as one of our nation's most prestigious awards and is annually memorialized in the Congressional Record. A sought-after consultant and keynote speaker on the subject of leadership development, Levine has addressed audiences ranging from Fortune 500 companies to professional sports teams to the prestigious World Economic Forum at Davos. She is the author of the New York Times best-seller On the Edge: Leadership Lessons from Mount Everest and other Extreme Environments. Having spent prolonged periods of time in some of the world's most dangerous and inhospitable places, she tackles the topics of creating cohesive teams, taking responsible risks, and developing no-nonsense leaders that can succeed in times of uncertainty. Levine was inducted into the Arizona Women's Hall of Fame in 2018. She holds a BA and honorary PhD from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Duke University, where she currently serves on the Board of Visitors. Her newest role is that of executive producer of the upcoming documentary film PASANG: In the Shadow of Everest, which chronicles the life of Pasang Lhamu Sherpa (1961-1993), the first female Sherpa to summit Mt. Everest. FUN FACT: Levine's life story was the inspiration for a craft beer called Conquer the Route Chocolate Stout which is distributed by Bold Missy Brewery and features her likeness on the label.
