iFanboy - Comic Books
iFanboy
The iFanboy.com Comic Book Podcast is a weekly talk show all about the best new current comic book releases. Lifelong friends, Conor Kilpatrick and Josh Flanagan talk about what they loved and (sometimes) hated in the current weekly books, from publishers like Marvel, DC, Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, BOOM! Studios, IDW, Aftershock, Valiant, and more. The aim is to have a fun time, some laughs, but to also really understand what makes comic books work and what doesn’t, and trying to understand the craft of this great, often under appreciated art form. Sometimes they agree, and sometimes… they don’t. With decades of experience talking about comics, interacting with comic book professionals, this is all about the love of an art form. If the names Brian Michael Bendis, Amanda Conner, Geoff Johns, Gene Luen Yang, Donny Cates, Jason Aaron, Kelly Thompson, David Marquez, Kelly Sue de Connick, Kieron Gillen, Charles Soule, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Scott Snyder, Tom King, Mitch Gerads, Esad Ribic, Rick Remender, Nick Spencer, John Ridley, Skottie Young, Chip Zdarsky, Jöelle Jones, David F. Walker, Grant Morrison, and Darwyn Cooke get you excited, then this is the place for you. This podcast is so good, you don’t even need to read comic books or graphic novels to enjoy it, but it’s a lot better if you do.

iFanboy Pick of the Week #408 – Zero #2
With Josh off possibly doing some primal screaming in the woods, Ali Colluccio steps up to the microphone to talk the week that was in comics with Paul Montgomery and Conor Kilpatrick! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

iFanboy Pick of the Week #407 – Three #1
Mike Romo is here! Mike Romo is here! Paul took a powder this week, and we forge ahead, some of us broadcasting from a car in the garage, triggering grim deja vu. The comics were hot and the car kept getting hotter, but we've got books of the week, and most of them were #1 issues. We check in on some of the comics announced at New York Comicon as well, and weigh in well before it's wise. Also, we know it wasn't the best connection, but it gets better as you keep going. Our apologies. Also apologies to the British and Phish fans. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

iFanboy Pick of the Week #406 – All-New X-Men Special #1
Something must be in the water, or maybe in the air, but whatever the reason, it's a meandering episode of the Pick of the Week Podcast as Conor Kilpatrick, Josh Flanagan, and Paul Montgomery discuss the week that was in comic books, as well as the dangers of Times Square, the final season of The Wire, and the proper pronunciation of a certain New England fish. Booksplode #11 - Paul Pope's Batman Year 100 with Special Guest Scott Snyder
The year is 2039 and the fabled Batman has emerged from the shadows of history. Let loose the dogs, because things are about to Booksplode.
Special guest Scott Snyder (Batman, The Wake, Superman Unchained) joins Paul Montgomery to discuss Paul Pope's criminally under-appreciated Batman: Year 100. Here, the man beneath the cowl is both mythic and utterly human, an enigmatic soul dedicated to a safeguarding tomorrow's Gotham. Why does Snyder rank the work as of his top five favorite Batman stories? How does it continue to influence his own work? All that and heaps more Batman. Learn more about your ad choices. iFanboy Pick of the Week #405 – Jupiter's Legacy #3
On this alarmingly sexy edition of the Pick of the Week Podcast, Josh Flanagan, Conor Kilpatrick and Paul Montgomery get all hot and bothered over a teetering tower of terrific comics books. Conor selects a (quite frankly) brutal bit of superhero deconstruction for the lead discussion. Later, the guys talk two potential television projects from DC Entertainment, then wander down memory lane to reminisce on their college era reading habits. Learn more about your ad choices. iFanboy Special Edition - 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'
The Marvel Studios Movie Universe expands to the small screen with the debut of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.! Paul Montgomery and Conor Kilpatrick team-up to discuss the pilot episode--what worked and what didn't work? How was the cast? And what about Agent Coulson, who was last seen bleeding out on the floor of the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier? All of that plus speculation on what we'll see in future episodes and how it will tie-in to the Marvel movies, and mutual admiration for flying cars! Learn more about your ad choices. iFanboy Pick of the Week #404 – Action Comics #23.3: Lex Luthor #1
Wait, Josh Flanagan chose WHAT as the Pick of the Week? That was the reaction of Paul Montgomery and Conor Kilpatrick had when word came down from on high but that's okay--in a long term relationship it's important to keep surprising your partner(s). Also, the other comic books of the week and Josh finally makes Paul laugh! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

iFanboy Pick of the Week #403 - Deadpool #16
Josh returns, and we stumble slightly less through this new era. Paul doesn't want to sound like he does, and let's talk about greater NYC area carpet commercials. Also, there are a lot of comics that need to get covered, and by gum, we cover them. Hey Lord Vader, can you take a picture for us? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

iFanboy Pick of the Week #402 - Batman: Black and White #1
A new era unfolds, but much remains the same. Though Josh sounds suspiciously like Ryan Haupt this week, Conor Kilpatrick and Paul Montgomery soldier on with a discussion of the first issue of the returning Batman: Black and White anthology series, a host of villainous tie-ins, and some large scale happenings through time and space. iFanboy.com Pick of the Week #401 - Batman/Superman #3
Total Running Time: 01:06:36
You're pretty much gonna be talking about what happens at the end, but before all of that, there's a lot of great comic book discussion. Also, Josh is laid low with a cold, and a deep sense of denial. If you like greek yogurt, you should probably skip this one. Also: the Junk Reading and threats! Learn more about your ad choices.
