Providing A Safe And Loving Environment For Children In Need with Rhonda Paulson
There is a growing recognition that the child welfare system cannot provide all of the services needed by the families and children who seek assistance from child welfare agencies, but thanks to Rhonda Paulson, who genuinely offers adequate support and services to the children and families she serves. Listen to today's motivational episode and become one of the many chosen few to give love and support to those in need! Key takeaways to listen for Isaiah 117: What is it and how it started The purpose of foster care and why it is so important Promoting child safety through partnerships with communities The impact of telling your genuine experience about foster care to people What is the greatest need in foster care? The rewarding life experiences of a foster parents Resources mentioned in this episode Mike Rowe: Returning the Favor (The Woman Changing the Foster Care System) About Rhonda Paulson Rhonda and her husband went through Path Training to become foster parents in 2014. They took a class at the Washington County DCS office as part of their training. They were reminded during that lesson that when children are removed from their homes, they frequently have to come to the DCS office and wait for placement. She couldn't imagine a fearful child sitting in such a sterile, frigid environment, as she peered about the cubicle-filled facility. That's when she realized God had placed the Isaiah 117 House on her heart. The Isaiah 117 House is her dream and Isaiah 1:17 says, "defend the cause of the fatherless," which she believes is what God is asking her to do. She envisions a house with a girl's bedroom, a boy's bedroom, a completely equipped bathroom, a playroom, a nursery, and so on. She sees a group of volunteers, two at a time, on standby to greet "the least of these" when they are in need of love the greatest. She sees a sanctuary that is always ready to take in the children of this region in their time of need and assist them through what is unavoidably a difficult adjustment. She believes that this facility has the ability to favorably impact the children who are being held in custody in ways that we could never anticipate. Stay tuned to learn how to align your family values and have better long-term results. Key takeaways to listen for Understanding the concept of "Who's in Your Room?" What is values-based decision making Personal vs. family values Why should we adopt The Doorman Principle in our lives? The significance of shared core family values Tips to better align with your personal and family ideals Resources mentioned in this episode Who's in Your Room? By Rick Sapio| Paperback, Hardcover One Nation Under Therapy by Christina Hoffsummer and Dr. Sally Satel About Rick Sapio Rick is a life-long entrepreneur who started his first business, a bicycle repair shop, after the death of his father when he was just 13 years old. Since that time he has founded more than 20 companies. Rick is the seventh of nine children raised by a mother with serious, life-long mental-health issues. He learned early in life that it's best to think positively about the cards one's been dealt; no matter how difficult those cards seem. Since 1994, Rick has been the founder and CEO of Mutual Capital Alliance, Inc. ("MCA"), a financial holding company. MCA both directly, and through its affiliated funds, has invested into more than 120 different companies. He is a founding GP of Mutual Capital Partners, a private equity firm, since 2003. He is also the founder of the USA Mutuals family of funds, since 2001. Rick is the founding and six-time Chairman of the Gathering of Titans Program. This annual event – currently in its 15th year - is an "entrepreneurs-only" gathering of successful business leaders focused on making the world a better place. This event takes place annually at MIT in Boston. He is a graduate of Rutgers University with a B.S. in Engineering. In 2018, Rick co-authored and published, Who's In Your Room, a unique book and platform that advocates that the quality of one's life is dependent on the quality of the people in their life. In the 4 decades since he started his first business, Rick has learned that business growth and success are accelerated when a few key principles are applied. When Rick realized that less than 1% of companies implement these skills, he created "The 12 Foundational Principles of Business;" which form the foundation of his BFS program. He believes that virtually any individual or company can be put on the straightforward path to prosperity and exponential growth, by learning to implement these principles. Rick resides in Dallas with his wife, Melissa, and their four young children.
