„Die Menschen verdrießt's, daß das Wahre so einfach ist“, so schrieb Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Ich hoffe, dass das nicht fuer die einfache Wahrheit und ihre Konsequenzen gilt, die ich im folgenden ausbreite, sondern dass sie sie erhellen und zum Umdenken anregen. Die Wahrheit, um die es geht, lautet: Es gibt nur zwei Wege, wie wir Menschen miteinander in Verbindung treten können – entweder durch Freiwilligkeit oder Zwang und Gewalt; einen dritten Weg gibt es nicht. Freiwilligkeit bedeutet, ich mache dir ein Angebot, dass du entweder annehmen oder auch ablehnen kannst, ganz so, wie du es wünscht. Zwang und Gewalt bedeuten, dass ich dich zwinge, mein Angebot anzunehmen, und dass ich dir ein Leid antue, dich bestrafe, wenn du es nicht tust. Die meisten Menschen bevorzugen vermutlich Freiwilligkeit gegenüber Zwang und Gewalt in ihrem Leben. Und doch ist in der modernen Gesellschaft das Zwang- und Gewaltprinzip systematisch und institutionell verankert: und zwar in Form des Staates. Und ausgehend von dieser Erkenntnis will ich im Folgenden eine Entwicklungsperspektive aufzeichnen, die auf apriorischen, handlungslogischen Schlüssen beruht. In the first segment of this three-video series, we delved into philosopher Immanuel Kant’s concept of a priori knowledge, which is independent of empirical experience, as elucidated in his Critique of Pure Reason, published in 1781. In the second part, we explored the notion that economics can be conceptualized as an a priori science of human action but not as an empirical science. This third and final segment of the series deals with the practical implications of approaching economics not as an empirical science but as an a priori science of human action. We conclude: When economics is approached as an empirical science, it runs the risk of being manipulated as a political plaything, a propaganda tool wielded by politicians and special interest groups aiming to leverage the state for their own plans – to the disadvantage for the great majority of the people. Do a priori statements exist in the science of economics? Is it conceivable to identify purely a priori statements in economics – statements whose truth value necessitates no empirical validation whatsoever and, in addition, originates from human reason? The economist Ludwig von Mises contends that the theory of human action, and thus economics – its so far best-developed sub-discipline –is an a priori science of human action. Mises suggests that economics cannot be conceived (i.e. understood and meaningfully applied) as an empirical science without encountering logical inconsistencies but only as an a priori science of human action. Tolkien’s Rings of Power embody evil ideas. The nineteen rings represent the idea that the ring bearers should have power over others and rule over them. And the One Ring, to which all other rings are subject, embodies an even darker idea, namely that the bearer of this master ring has power over all other ring bearers and those ruled by them; that he is the sole and absolute ruler of all. The nineteen rings symbolize the idea of establishing and maintaining a state (as we know it today), namely a state understood as a territorial, coercive monopoly with the ultimate power of decision-making over all conflicts. However, the One Ring of power stands for the particularly evil idea of creating a state of states, a world government, a world state; and the creation of a single world fiat currency controlled by the states would pave the way toward this outcome. Stand heute befindet sich die westliche Welt leider auf dem Weg in den (Neo-)Sozialismus, sie hat sich einem „Great-Reset-Keynesianismus“ anheimgegeben, der sie in den totalen Staat fuehrt. Economics is not an empirical science. Economic laws are not unearthed or substantiated through empirical verification. Rather, economics operates as an a priori science of human action, the laws of which are revealed literally through logical thinking, not through experimentation. This idea, articulated by the economist Ludwig von Mises about 100 years ago, is now a downright revolutionary notion that deserves significant attention, especially today – a time of, as I call it, anti-enlightenment and widespread confusion.
