Pakistan beat South Africa to keep T20 World Cup hopes alive
Katya Witney, Abhishek Mukherjee and Yas Rana reflect on Pakistan's 33-run (DLS) win against South Africa - a result that just about keeps their semi-final hopes alive heading into the final round of Super 12 fixtures.Pakistan lost early wickets again and slumped to 43-4, but Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan turned things around with excellent half-centuries to help them post 185-9.Despite losing two early wickets of their own, South Africa started positively in the chase and looked well set at 65-2 after 7 overs.However, Shadab Khan changed the game with two wickets in his first over before the rain eventually set in.When the players re-emerged after the delay, South Africa needed 73 runs from 30 balls - a target they fell well short of. Sikandar Rana was once again at the heart of everything good about Zimbabwe, taking a brilliant 3-25 with the ball.Earlier in the day, Rilee Rossouw struck a blistering century and Anrich Nortje took 4-10 as South Africa laid down a marker by thumping Bangladesh by 104 runs at the SCG.In the second game in Sydney, there were half-centuries for Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav as India produced a professional performance to ease past the Netherlands by 56 runs.
