Why Breastfeed Beyond Infancy?

Submit your question and we’ll answer it in a future episode!“Honey, my mom asked how long you plan to breastfeed our little guy. I think she was figuring you would wean him before too long.”  “Honey, I haven’t put a time limit on us.  I guess I wasn’t thinking about your mom’s opinion, since this is between me and my baby.”  “Honey!  Why are you getting so upset?  I was just asking!”  “I was listening to the Badass Breastfeeding Podcast and Dianne and Abby are talking about breastfeeding babies into toddlerhood, and how societal pushback is making this so difficult for mothers.  There are a lot of benefits to extended breastfeeding!  I bet your mom didn’t know that!”  “Honey, I have no problem if you want to continue breastfeeding.  And I am glad that you are learning more about this so you can help educate others.  This is so important!”   This week on the Badass Breastfeeding Podcast, Dianne and Abby are talking about breastfeeding babies past 1 or 2 years, and the benefits that are abundant for both mother and baby.  This is such an important topic!  Society tells us that breastfeeding past infancy doesn’t benefit mother or baby.  Check out this week’s episode and find out why it’s important to keep that breastfeeding relationship going!  Thanks for all the reviews on iTunes!
