Making The Perfect Sauce with Charlie Gasparino

Charlie Gasparino’s Homemade Lasagne:
To feed 5-7 people
Start with making meatballs:
1 lb ground beef
2 eggs
½ cup breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons parsley
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Brown and bake at 350 for 20 minutes
Then sauce:
2 cans crushed tomatoes
½ cup olive oil
1 small onion
Basil leaves
Sprinkle of parsley and oregano
Garlic
Throw in a meatball or 2 to add flavor while sauce simmers for 2-3 hours
Finally assemble Lasagne:
Start with sauce on bottom
Layer of dry noodles
Layer of crushed meatballs
Layer of dry noodles
Layer of ricotta
Layer of noodles
Final layer of sauce
