It has opened the world of entrepreneurship to her and allowed her to pay off $140k in debt, $ 62k and counting since Jan 2019. She has always been able to negotiate unique work schedules and opportunities which allowed her the flexibility to be with and take care of her family. Later on, she was able to open a clinic, and also hold a contract working from home doing tele-psychiatry earning multiple 6 figures last year (in Alabama). Despite her diligence in saving early on, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor which was difficult but changed her life. It wiped out all their savings and they had to rebuild from a net worth of zero in 2009. Hanging on to her investments in 2008/9 when everyone else was bailing, she was able to accumulate enough money in her investments to comfortably retire at the age of 40.
