On today’s episode of Felony Friday we have a first! The first interview with an inmate on death row. John was joined first by Tessie Castillo, who is a co-author of the Crimson Letters: Voices from Death Row. Tessie shares her story about how she found herself writing a book with inmates on death row and why she is so passionate about getting these stories out. For the second half of the show John is joined by George T. Wilkerson. Wilkerson was sentenced to two death sentences on December 20, 2006. He is on death row in North Carolina. During his time on death row, Wilkerson has written many articles and recently co-authored the Crimson Letters - Voices from Death Row, which contains 30 compelling essays written in the prisoners' own words. On today's show John is joined by Adam and Ro Clausen. Adam Clausen was sentenced to 213 years in federal prison for Hobbs Act Robbery and 924(c) Use of a Firearm. 213 years and not a soul was was harmed during any of the robberies. Thankfully, after many years of fighting for his freedom, Adam was released this year on compassionate release after serving 20 years.  Ro was a previous guest on this show back on Episode 179 of this show, where she advocated for Adam's release. She also shared about her YouTube channel called Strong Prison Wives, where she makes videos in relation to being a strong prison wife. Adam and Ro shared the uncommon and frustrating experience of Adam's last day in prison.
