Hannah was previously Director of Outreach for the Beacon Center of Tennessee, a free-market think tank. On this week's Electric Libertyland Brian McWilliams salutes an invoking of the War Powers Act to strike down U.S. support for the war in Yemen before turning his attention to attacking the 2018 Farm Bill's subsidy madness. Today on Felony Friday Dave Dahl joins John to share his story. Dave is the co-creator of the "Dave's Killer Bread" brand.   Prior to his breakthrough in the bread game Dave served a total of four prison sentences for crimes ranging from burglary to armed robbery to drug dealing.   Dave Dahl was able to turn his life around and find success after prison. Dave's story is one of second chances. On today's show Jason Spyres joined John to discuss the major injustice he suffered as a result of selling cannabis in his teens. Jason was arrested on drug charges nearly 20 years ago. In the years since, he’s been on a path of personal success and growth. When he was 19 years old, he was arrested for selling cannabis during an undercover sting, and until recently, the state of Illinois had kept him out of society for it. Jason served 15 years of a 30-year prison sentence. Once Jason got a taste of freedom, he pushed relentlessly for his goals. While on work release he worked 2 jobs and took on a full slate of college classes to work towards his goal of becoming an engineer. Currently, Jason is enrolled at Stanford University and is actively petitioning the Governor of Illinois for a full pardon. Jason will be the first to tell you that he's not doing this for himself, but to blaze a trail for those who do not have the resources to fight for themselves.  Learn more about your ad choices.
