Ep. 1761 Adriano Zago Of Serra Ferdinandea | On The Road With Stevie Kim
Welcome to Episode 1761 on another episode of “On The Road Edition”, hosted by Stevie Kim. In Today’s episode, Stevie sits down with the agronomist Adriano Zago to discuss Serra Ferdinandea, a collaboration project between the Planeta and Oddo familiesMore about today’s winerySerra Ferdinandea is a dream made in Sicily.
Anyone who knows the history and culture of Sicily and France, is aware of their connection from the Norman Kings, down to Voltaire and Sciascia. The same is true in viticulture, with frequent exchanges of varieties and techniques.
This project is going to renew that connection and give life to an eminently Sicilian company, adding a decidedly French touch to our extensive knowledge of the island’s viticulture and oenology. This is all achieved through the common vision of two families: the Planetas from Sicily and the Oddos of France, partners in this entrepreneurial challenge, managed with sharing and complementarity, friendship and passion: made from the same stuff that dreams are made of.Connect:Website: serraferdinandea.com/More about the host Stevie Kim:Stevie Kim hosts Clubhouse sessions each week (visit Italian Wine Club & Wine Business on Clubhouse), these recorded sessions are then released on the podcast to immortalize them! Ep. 1759 Alessandro Comotto From La Masera | Slow Wine 2023
Welcome to Episode 1759; part of our Italian wine interview series set in Bologna! Today’s interview features Alessandro Comotto from La MaseraStevie Kim and her team traveled to the Bologna Slow Wine Fair in March 2023. There they conducted dozens of interviews with some of Italy's most inspiring producers. Join the fun every Thursday afternoon!Tune-in each Thursday as we bring you the great interviews that unfolded over the course of 3 days.More about today’s winery:“We are: Alessandro, Gian Carlo, Davide, Sergio and Marco, a group of friends who founded “La Masera” in Settimo Rottaro in 2005, wishing to bring to life the Erbaluce Passito, the wine that, it is told, grew out of the skilled hands of local farmers. The choice of our name is significant for one of the values that characterizes us most: the strong link with our territory and its authenticity. In effect, “Masere” is the name we use to indicate the thick stone walls that demarcate fields, just like the one that supports, in its terracing, the land we acquired to start our Erbaluce production. La Masera lies in an area of about 5 hectares, located in Settimo Rottaro, Azeglio and Piverone, among the hills of Ivrea morainic amphitheatre, in Canavese (TO), Northern Piedmont: this is the typical area of Erbaluce grape variety, finding here its highest quality expression. Our philosophy is to produce high quality, authentic and loyal wine, combining the common sense inherited from the “grandparents” with the improvements made by science and technology, giving life to a product that comes from the through a simple interpretation, but full of passion and respect for the territory.”Connect:Website: www.lamasera.it/_______________________________Let's keep in touch!
