Palestinian journalist Abubaker Abed exposes Israel’s targeting and killing of Palestinian footballers in its ongoing genocide on Gaza, and demands Israel be kicked out of FIFA immediately. Abubaker, who only left Gaza two months ago in April 2025, reports that at least 371 Palestinian footballers have been killed by Israel, including the legendary Palestinian player, “the Lion”, Mohammed Barakat. Abubaker praises the solidarity of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and Ipswich Town captain Sam Morsy for their solidarity with Palestine, but criticises Egyptian captain Mohamed Salah calling him an “absolute disgrace” for his lack of vocal solidarity with Palestinians. Abubaker says Israel must be kicked out of FIFA immediately for its violations of international law and asks footballers to start calling out Israel and begin naming it as the perpetrator of unprecedented war crimes against the Palestinians. Last night, Palestine’s national football team faced Oman in the World Cup qualifiers, drawing 1-1 after a controversial penalty was awarded against them in the 97th minute, resulting in Palestine not qualifying for the finals of the tournament. At least 57 Palestinians seeking aid have been killed and more than 363 injured in Israeli attacks in Gaza since this morning, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed at these so-called "aid distribution centres" to 224, according to Gaza’s health ministry. So far, the centres ran by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation have proven to be nothing more than death traps for Palestinians, who have likened their experiences to the movie "The Hunger Games". To discuss all this and more, Ahmed Alnaouq is joined by fellow Palestinian author from Gaza, the Pulitzer prize-winning poet and writer, Mosab Abu Toha.

Palestine Deep Dive’s Hala Hanina talks to actress and organiser Nicola Jenes, one of the key organisers of the Madleen Freedom Flotilla which has just been intercepted by Israeli occupation forces. They talk about what happened early on Monday morning, what the activists were trying to deliver to Gaza, and what conditions they expect them to be held in. Jenes says despite the interception the flotilla was a success and that this is just the beginning of the attempt to break Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza. They also discuss the huge global support for the flotilla and how this could change the situation in terms of Western government’s complicity in the siege and genocide. Palestine Deep Dive’s Ahmed Alnaouq talks to UN Special Rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territory Francesca Albanese about the legality of Israel’s interception of the flotilla bound for Gaza. Albanese says Israel’s actions are totally illegal and that it is obliged to immediately release the activists and return the vessel. The Madleen was a UK-flagged ship and Albanese called on the British government to take its responsibility for the activists it held and pressure Israel to abide by international law. But she went further saying that, now the flotilla has been intercepted, the navies of every nation in the Mediterranean, mentioning specifically France, Italy, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Spain should be sent to Gaza to break the siege.

Jeremy Corbyn, independent MP for Islington North, today introduced a bill into UK parliament to secure a public inquiry into Britain’s role in the genocide in Gaza. The former Labour leader is demanding transparency around UK military, economic and political cooperation with Israel, including weapons, intelligence and the use of RAF Akrotiri on Cyprus. He has received support from a range of independent, Labour, Green, SNP and other MPs. Corbyn says a cover-up is going on into British complicity and adds a Chilcot-style inquiry is the only way to get to the truth. He slams his former colleagues in the Labour Party including Keir Starmer, David Lammy and John Healey, saying they should be investigated for overseeing UK complicity.

Ahmed Alnaouq and Matt Kennard discuss what's next for besieged Gaza as it comes under the control of Israeli military and US mercenaries. They delve into the new US-Israeli aid programme in Gaza, which has seen massacres of starving Palestinians trying to receive food. This is a way, they say, to displace more Palestinians with the ultimate intention of full ethnic cleansing to a third country. They also discuss the record of genocidal statements by senior Israeli officials and Benjamin Netanyahu’s Gaza 2035 plan to turn the Palestinian territory into a Dubai-style tech hub.  Israel has long coveted the oil and gas off Gaza’s coast, they add, which includes 1.1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and nearly 2 billion barrels of oil. This is a land grab but also a resource grab.

In an exclusive interview with Palestine Deep Dive, esteemed Palestinian politician, activist and scholar, Dr Hanan Ashrawi, reacts to Israel’s ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, following Benjamin Netanyahu's deliberate breaking of the ceasefire. Speaking to former UN staffer and journalist, Mark Seddon, Dr Ashrawi, weighs in on the West's role in this campaign of extermination and focuses in particular on the role being played by Keir Starmer's Labour Government, saying, “Exactly I think accountability should be applied across the board; it is not just Israel that is carrying out a genocide, those governments that are continuing to supply it with weapons and continuing to allow it to use its bases, like the British base in Cyprus, those governments that are supplying it with intelligence like the British government. So these people are definitely complicit in the genocide itself, and they cannot escape it. Sooner or later they will have to be held to account. There will be consequences, they cannot continue with this disguising reality and attempting to circumvent what is happening and so on. This complicity now is very clear. And they have to understand, that they will be considered part of a genocide that took place. The Chilcot Report, officially titled the Iraq Inquiry, was an independent public inquiry into the UK's involvement in the 2003 Iraq War, chaired by Sir John Chilcot. The Report exposed intelligence failures, lack of planning and questioned the legal basis for the war. Corbyn said he remains “constantly astonished” by the attitude of successive UK governments, which continue to enable Israel’s assaults on Gaza, an onslaught he describes as “a Second World War-Style carpet bombing.” However if the government refuses such an inquiry, Corbyn says he will not be deterred from continuing to demand one by billing further parliamentary debates.
