109. Risks & Rewards: Real Life Stories of What Happens When You Do the Thing That Scares You Most With Brannan Arnett + Erin Morris

With today's guests,      Erin, a full-time traveler and copywriter believes powerful copy is the key ingredient to an intentional life and business as it's the cornerstone to connecting, standing out & converting clients so you can live a freedom-based lifestyle. She's currently calling Mexico home for the winter and when she's not working or traveling you'll find her hiking a mountain or inside a yoga studio. Brannan Arnett is a Brand Strategist & Designer based in Asheville, North Carolina, where she lives with her husband, 14 year old pup, G. She is the Founder & Creative Director of Golden Hour Designs, a Brand Consultancy she founded from her kitchen table in the summer of 2019. She helps business owners use strategy and design to communicate their value and convert folks into avid brand fans - fostering long-lasting brand love and loyalty. Her decade spent teaching in an experientially-based classroom taught her the power of building trust with what she calls the 4 C's of branding: Consistency, Clarity, Cohesion & Conciseness. She believes trust is the ultimate currency, and harnessing the simplicity of the 4 C's allows brands to build trust and convert users into customers, for life. She's an enneagram 7, mom-soon-to-be and one-time van-lifer. When she's not working with clients she adores, she's traveling, practicing yoga or hunting down sweet finds at her favorite thrift store.      In this episode, we cover… risk vs reward and how both have played out in their own businesses Erin and Brennan's journey including how they got started, how their business evolved and how they got to where they are today the biggest pivotal moments in their business thus far how they handle taking big risks and assess what to do  what is required to see success from multiple different opinions   Quotes "Your identity is more so what you give yourself it is how you see yourself, And it's also more so who you are. Versus personality is more of how you portray yourself or live out your identities, it's how you behave, not always who you are. So when we label this, one of the easiest ways I've looked at this is identity is who you are, personality is what type of person you are or how you show yourself to the world. This is an important distinction to make because a lot of who we currently think we are, is just learned behavior."   "When we change our identity, it is guaranteed, and it is natural that your behaviors are going to change as well in accordance and in alignment with the identity that you're choosing."   Links & Resources Mentioned in this Episode Laptop Lifestyle Co Links: Website Instagram Tik Tok YouTube Channel   Other Links Mentioned: Brannan's Instagram Brannan's Website  Brannan's Freebie   Erin's Instagram Erin's Website Erin's ClickUp Freebie

108. What Does It Mean To Be Intentional?

Intentional means done on purpose or deliberately, and success doesn't happen by accident, you need knowledge and tools to be intentional. As well as, intentionality doesn't mean figuring it all out, and it doesn't mean you can’t change your mind! In this episode, we touch base with the “how, what and why’s” of our actions. We discuss the opposites and break down each component to being conscious of what you are doing in the moment and also how you can break those barriers.    In this episode, we cover… What does intentional mean  What you are doing in the present and why  Action steps to take to be more intentional  Tools to use to recognize when you are not in the moment What I’m currently practicing to be more intentional   “Intentionality happens in the small day to day moments, decisions, and awareness. You cannot be intentional if you do not have the awareness to be present in the day to day.”  “The keys are your attention and focus aka avoiding distractions and your time. 106. Stop Arguing For Your Limitations

The most impactful phrase on my life in 2022 was "stop arguing for your limitations." I think a lot of people who have this idea of wanting to do something in their life but make excuses on the “why” genuinely do not understand that the only person getting in their way of their dreams, is theirself. In this episode, we break down examples of limitations you might be using in your everyday life, and also how to overcome those limitations one by one. It’s honestly not about how you do it, it’s about when. It only takes a short amount of time to break a cycle and put an end to what you do not think is possible for yourself, so join me in becoming powerful, successful and truly limitless.    In this episode, we cover… What are limitations How your own limitations are keeping you stuck Examples of excuses you are currently using, even if you DON'T realize it How do you develop limitations Tap into being limitless How to shift your mindset and not argue for your limitations   “Stop arguing for your limitations, stop being in that victim mode of not even giving yourself a chance for a possibility.”  “The things that make you feel safe are the things that are holding you back.” “You get to choose your hard. Life is not about not being hard, life is not about avoiding hard things but you  do get to choose what “hard” means to you and what you take on in your life.”   Thanks for listening, and if you like what you've heard, feel free to share this episode with your friends! In this mini episode Natasha Zyrok, a business mentor who has scaled her business to achieve massive growth, breaks down the different buyer types and explains the psychology of selling to each type effectively.   Our Favorite Quotes “That analytic buyer is that very very perfectionist like a detail oriented buyer, you need all the information readily available, so like the price, the features, you need to be able to make that empowered decision by yourself. Zoned in, you need to make that decision and then go to your person and say hey the decision is made.”    “The amicable buyer wants to be put in a little love cocoon, they want to be loved by you, they want to be loved by the audience.”    “The driver buyers are drawn to that undeniable authority, you don’t shy away from money talk and you don’t shy away from showing up without presents and owning your wins in a form of inspirational and transformational. You are living the dream.”    “Ride or die expressive followers, once they trust you they are rocking with you. They are in love with you. That's why I'm always saying you are your best asset.”      Thanks for listening, and if you like what you've heard, I would greatly appreciate you sharing this episode with your friends or on your Instagram stories (and tag @laptop.lifestyle.co)! Are you committed to working out your schedule and setting aside the time even when you don’t feel like it? What are you committing to? Make the freaking commitment and get accountability to hold you to that commitment.”    ““The influx of people entering this space created lack of quality, to put it lightly, because there is no regulation in this space, there is no need necessarily for certifications or years of experience so it’s this really cool message of like hey, anyone can do this. You can hop in and become anything you want, but the asterisk to that is that you still have to deliver.”   Thanks for listening, and if you like what you've heard, feel free to share this episode with your friends!
