(Response Video) Diary of a CEO - Is ChatGPT4 The Beginning of the End with Sam Harris

Was the release of ChatGPT and the subsequent generative AI models the beginning of the end for humanity? Should we be more concerned about the longer-term implications or the risks right around the corner? In this special episode, I'm responding to another thought-provoking dialogue from a recent Diary of a CEO between Steven Bartlett and Sam Harris. Sam brought to the conversation a unique perspective, looking at the situation through the lens of a philosopher and neuroscientist rather than a technologist. Reflecting on the conversation, there were areas where, despite our differing worldviews, we aligned. However, there were also some specific areas where we diverged. In the video I respond to some of the key themes such as the lack of direct connection between greater intelligence and greater ethics, the immediate threat of misinformation, the erosion of trust in society and the implications, what it really means to be human. I'd also highly encourage you to stick around until the end where I unpack the richness of Sam's recommendation to every person for improving their happiness. I'm not even sure he realized the magnitude buried in the simplicity of his statement. So, if you're eager to challenge your thinking and continue plumbing the depths of AI and the future it brings with it, this video is for you. And, if you found this video beneficial, check out more of my content and be sure to subscribe as I continue living life at the intersection of business, technology, and the human experience. Facing Our Digital Demons: Cybersecurity in the AI Age with Benjamin Netter, Founder of Riot

In this session I'm doing a deep-dive into a topic that's literally shaping our world, and not always in ways we'd like: Cybersecurity in the age of AI. This week, I sat down with Benjamin Netter, tech junkie and founder of Riot, a cybersecurity company looking to protect the most vulnerable. We delved into the nitty-gritty of data breaches and the risk of your personal information - yes, yours - being leaked on the internet. Sound scary? Well, it is. But fear not, we broke down complex issues, like two-step verification and mobile passcodes, in a way that even my non-tech-savvy friends could grasp. We also unpacked what business and learning leaders can do to prepare their employees and ultimately protect their organizations. And if you're thinking, "well, shouldn't the AI companies be sorting this out?" – we touched on that too. Prepare to have your assumptions challenged, my friends. So, get ready to have your perspectives flipped, your curiosity sparked, and yes, maybe even a tiny bit of paranoia induced (all in the name of good, secure fun, of course!) {Special Episode} Navigating the Liminal Space: AI, Human Experience, and the Future of Work

In today's video, we delve into an uncharted territory, a concept I'm calling "Liminal Space," that ambiguous area on the threshold of something new and transformative. While I pulled together this video in a rush due to a last-minute change in guests, it just might be one of the most important ones yet. I highlight three of the biggest changes happening in the world of work, which include the role of artificial intelligence in our lives and future, the changing expectations of the employee experience, and the current economic uncertainty. I unpack why, despite the relentless march of technology, some things will never become obsolete. Instead, they will evolve, adapting to this new era ahead. This video is an exploration of our transitional phase, standing at the edge of the familiar, staring into an unknown future. It's a bit like walking through a foggy twilight, where the world as we know it is beginning to shape-shift before our eyes. It's unsettling, but remember, no great change ever came without a little discomfort. In this conversation, I also dive into my philosophy about life – the lessons learnt growing up in a funeral home, the value of purpose, the mirage of control, and the art of holding things with an open hand. This is about finding balance between purposeful action and acceptance of uncertainty, a mantra for navigating the paradoxes of our times. But most importantly, this video is a call to arms – a reminder that while this journey is individual, it is far from solitary. We are all navigating this together, and if we can be honest, open, and supportive, we're more than capable of weathering the storm. I hope you'll join me on this exploration. This isn't just a video; it's an invitation - to reflect, to engage, and to journey forward into the fog of the future. As always, it's not just about finding answers, but about asking the right questions. And boy, do we have some questions lined up for you! Tune in, lean in, and let's explore this 'liminal space' together. I promise, it'll be worth the ride. 0:00 - Introduction 2:26 - "The Big Three" | Disruptions Happening Now 2:57 - Artificial Intelligence 11:15 - Expectations of the Employee Experience 17:15 - Economic & Business Uncertainty 21:38 - So, What Do We Do? 23:53 - Sensitivity to Where We're At 28:16 - Keep People Focused on the Problems 33:49 - Redefine Your Swimlane 37:25 - Deconstruct & Reconstruct Your Work 44:43 - Deconstruct & Reconstruct Your Skills 52:49 - Step Forward, But Hold With An Open Hand
