New Podcast Let Us Reason - A Christian/Muslim Dialogue

Al Fadi and Jay Smith are challenging the Islamic traditional view which says that Mecca is where Islam started, Medina is where Mohammad migrated, and that the Quran was revealed during his time in both Mecca and Medina.  Also that the Quran was collected as a book  after the death of Mohammad by Abu Bakr and later by Othman in 652-654 AD.  Jay and Al ask the following questions:  Who is Mohammad? Al Fadi and Anthony Rogers continue their discussion to give more examples to prove Jesus' divinity in the gospel of Mark.   In Mark 6: 45-52, Jesus saw the disciples out on the lake which shows His divine character of omniscience; all knowing, and the wind was against them, he came walking on the water and stopped the wind; which showed his omnipotence; all powerful. Muslims claim that the gospel of Mark doesn't speak of the divinity of Christ.  Al Fadi and Anthony Rogers are discussing the points that will refute that claim and prove the divinity of Christ.  Mark reference Isaiah 40:3 and Malachi 3:1 at the beginning of his gospel(1:1-3), as a fulfilment of these prophecies.  They also site Isaiah 42:1, as an example of how God the Father echoes this passage in Mark 1:11 . Al Fadi and his guests continue to discuss the month of fasting; Ramadan.  They talk about how did they explained to westerners why were they fasting.  How they liked to brag of doing it for God, and made sure everyone knew that they were fasting.  They explain how Mohammad took traditions from pagan Arabs and Jews on fasting . They say the ultimate reason for fasting was the forgiveness of sins not getting closer to God. They ask these questions of Muslims: Why are you fasting? Al Fadi and David Wood discuss the three challenges that Islam raises against Christianity, Muslim who are seeking the truth, and for the world.  They highlight the biblical response to each challenge.  1. Islam contradicts the core beliefs of Christianity; Jesus's is not the Son of God, He did not die on the cross, and others.  2. Muslims who believe in Jesus had to give up their families.  3. David wood and Al Fadi  discuss the treatment of women in Muslim majority countries in light of International Women Day.  David talks about two different studies by two different organizations who studied the status of women in many countries and found out that Muslim majority countries rank the worse.  From physical violence to the percentage of women who are married and divorced by the age of sixteen.  They also point out that Mecca is the sexual assault capital of the world, and most of that happens during the Hajj pilgrimage.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
