All of the Above

This episode is the second in our follow up's to Paul's commands in Colossians 3. Trevor spends some time talking on ways to exasperate our children, and discussing what we are to aim for in parenting instead of exasperating and discouraging our kids.  Give this episode a listen;  we hope it's practical, helpful, and encouraging.

Yesterday, Trevor taught through Paul's commands to the household in Colossians 3:18-4:1.  Trevor broadly addressed how these commands fit within the overall structure of the letter, encouraging the church to "put on Christ where Christ puts you."  In this episode, Trevor wanted to delve a little bit deeper into the topic and provide some practical ways of thinking through the responsibility of teaching our children obedience.  

A few years ago, Trevor met Anand through a mutual friend and was blown away by the work he was doing in India.  Anand founded Disciples Bible College, a school dedicated to teaching pastors how to read their Bibles and shepherd God's church.  Anand is active in planting churches, translating commentaries and equipping church leaders, and his wife, Anusha, devotes herself to medical missions, women's, and children's ministry. This week, Trevor interviews Shane and Shannon Harper about their youngest son, Sam.  Sam is a bit of a celebrity at our church.  He's cute, he's happy, he's sneaky, and did we say he was cute?  Sam also has Down's Syndrome.  The Harpers talk about what it was like to be given this very particular gift.  Give this episode a listen and be encouraged.
