Ep 148: Brazilian sports betting bill sees tax reductions
Following a week of waits and postponements, the Brazilian Senate’s Committee on Economic Affairs approved the bill that will see the regulations of fixed-odd sports betting in Brazil.According to the text of the rapporteur, senator Angelo Coronel, companies in the sector will pay 12% tax on revenue obtained from games. It reduced the 18% rate approved by the Chamber of Depu-ties, and extended the grant period from three to five years. In addition, online casinos and other virtual products are still on the table after an attempt to remove it, as the moment, seems to have failed.
