Susan and Marcus Evans are seasoned psychotherapists who worked at the Tavistock Clinic in the UK. During their time there, the Gender Identity Development Services (GIDS) experienced a massive influx of referrals, and they both witnessed a startling switch in the psychotherapy profession from patient inquiry to "affirmative" chemical treatments, specifically when "gender" was involved, and out of keeping with the broader standards of care for other psychological treatments. I spoke with Torren at the end of 2020 about his struggles with gender, black and white thinking, and Obsessive-Compulsive ideation.
