Somewhere in the Skies

In part 1 of Comedians on UFOs, we are joined by Rhys Darby, Kumail Nanjiani, Aisling Bea, Dave Foley, Steve Berg, and Moshe Kasher!UFO accounts can sometimes reminds us of a playful world. A humorous world. A species looking for structure and pattern and constantly being bombarded with both chaos and ridiculousness. And that if most definitely UFOs. And it's also comedy. Comedy gives us a communal experience full of confusion and raw emotional release. It makes us feel more human than ever. So when we're faced with something possibly non-human, we can choose to run away from it or fight it. Or, we can embrace it and sometimes, laugh about it. In this series, Ryan digs into the archives of Somewhere in the Skies to bring you a collection of interviews he's conducted throughout the years with comedians. Zukowski was the subject of the NY Times Best-Selling book, The 37th Parallel: The Secret Truth Behind America's UFO Highway. He also has recently joined geologist, Frank Kimbler, on several expeditions to the Roswell UFO crash site. After a meticulous and diligent search, they discovered a handful of new metal fragments that have been tested at metallurgy labs in both Socorro, NM and Denver, CO. On episode 329 of SOMEWHERE IN THE SKIES. Ryan is joined by former NYPD police officer, Dr. Keith Taylor. Taylor's professional experience includes twenty-five years in public service, starting with the NYPD and retiring as an assistant commissioner for the New York City Correction Department. He is currently a professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. But he also has an interest in UFOs and recently attended the House Oversight UFO Hearing in Washington, D.C. We get an inside look at what went down at the hearing, Taylor's thoughts and theories on what was brought forward, and what happens next. He then explains how law enforcement can become a centralized and integral part of UFO reporting, data collection, and even investigation. On episode 327 of SOMEWHERE IN THE SKIES, we are joined by Oceanographer and former NASA Deputy Director of Earth Sciences, Dr. Paula Bontempi. Dr. Bontempi spent over 16 years as the program manager for Ocean Biology and Biogeochemistry at NASA Headquarters, as well as the Lead for NASA’s Carbon Cycle and Ecosystems Focus Area before becoming the Earth Science Division’s Acting Deputy Director in 2019. She is currently the Dean of the Graduate School of Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Bontempi is also a part of the NASA independent UAP Study team. Black is best known for being an original member of MTV's sketch comedy show, The State. He was also featured on Comedy Central's Stella, Viva Variety, and Reno 911.
