Maria Belmonte left the funeral industry some years ago to practice acupuncture. Although Maria looked blood, guts, and death in the face on a daily basis as a mortician, she found that the scariest part of the work was the "good ol' boys club" mentality; her skills and intelligence were routinely dismissed. The most toxic thing about the work environment was not the formaldehyde in the embalming fluid, but again, the treatment she received as an Asian woman. The funeral industry proved brutal on her small frame. Maria developed fibromyalgia and a host of other health problems from chronic overwork. Maria cares deeply for her patients. Chinese medicine has provided Maria with a gentler means with which to express her compassionate healing skills set on others. Claudia, also known as ‘The Death Faerie’, is a spirit medium, death doula, and coach. A fascinating woman who survived an abusive childhood, she moved to England at age three where she hung out in cemeteries and talked to spirits. She sees- or rather feels- faeries, dragons, angels, guides, and aliens and describes how each energy has its own weight and quality.
