61 | Working Herbally with Lyme Disease with Dan De Lion
Join Dan de Lion of Return to Nature (www.returntonature.us) for a workshop covering the various aspects to know about Lyme and tick borne issues. The class will range from practicing body awareness while out in the field, food and herbal prevention of Lyme and co-infections, herbal protocols for addressing the symptoms and the bodily systems effected, and the deeper ecological relevance to what ticks and Lyme disease bring to the necessary awareness of our communities. If you have gone outside in the Northeast, ticks have probably become part of your life. This workshop will help reveal myths about diagnosis and bites, as well as explore remedies which are relevant to certain functions of the organ system related to working with Lyme. This class was recorded at the Indiana Herbal Center in Bloomington, IN. Dan De Lion is a forager, herbalist, and teacher dedicated to working with Nature to facilitate the reunion of the people with our planetary purpose. Dan teaches through Return to Nature providing classes in foraging and herbalism, making homemade remedies, fermentation and kombucha, and primitive and survival skills. He also makes herbal products, gives herbal consultations, runs mentorship programs, and teaches custom group herbalism classes. It's with none other than David Hoffmann. David, a Fellow of Britain's National Institute of Medical Herbalists, has been a clinical phytotherapist for more than twenty-five years. He started his herbal practice in Wales, continuing at the Findhorn community in Scotland, and has been practicing in California since 1986. A long time activist in the environmental and peace movements, he ran for parliament in Britain for the Green party in 1983. He is one of the founding members and a past president of the American Herbalists Guild and is on the advisory boards of the American Botanical Council and HerbalGram. The author of seventeen books, including the highly regarded The Complete Illustrated Holistic Herbal, An Elders' Herbal,Medical Herbalism and The Herbal Handbook, Hoffmann teaches phytotherapy throughout the English-speaking world and is currently a faculty member of the California School of Herbal Studies. He is also a visiting faculty member at Bastyr University, the California Institute of Integral Studies, the National College of Phytotherapy, and the Rocky Mountain School of Botanical Studies.
