Your mind is tempted to keep going; knocking out each task one at a time.
Frustration builds as more has not been accomplished. The day is moving too quickly, the hours decreasing.
The whispers of failure freezes the heart. The only response is to start.
Why slow down? Why rest?
You are physically drained, yet geared up for that second wind. You can do it.
Or should you?
Just because you can do it doesn't mean you should. You continue to push your body to the extreme. You shackle the mind to rethink and overthink. Your spirit is weary.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Breathe in, breathe out! "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." ~ Matthew 11:28-29Nothing does more harm than pressing beyond your own capacity. And this comes easy when rest and restoration is not a priority.
God wants us to rely on Him, not our own physical strength. But when all you do is live life on your own terms, you begin to weaken more often.
Rest is more than physical. It's spiritual too. Giving yourself the space to rest allows God room to restore your spirit.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Purify your spirit while in pursuit of God.
Restore your daily rhythms with His love and grace.
The quietness and rest will open your heart to hear His divine dreams created specifically for you.
May your spirit be set free with the strength of the Lord.
