While Egwene and Rand are managing their wars, Elaida remains in the White Tower and attempts to control events. If only she knew how much of her actions were not her own, as her council is approaching Darkfriend Social levels of infiltration. Alviarin makes the first of her two returns, breaking up Elaida's regathering power and subjecting her to punishments that are returned later in kind, via the Mistress of Novices. While examining minute details of these scenes Aradia and Seth repeatedly marvel at how perception works, both mentally and physically. It's all in your head!
