This poem was a beautiful reminder for Mirella to really be present with her daughter and to enjoy each moment, especially the ones that seemed small and mundane. Her worth and significance didn't come from providing her daughter with big, material things; rather, it came from Mirella being herself, the mom. It came from how she showed up every day – her tone, her attitude, her words, and her corrections. It also came from the ways she showed love, patience, calmness, compassion, gentleness, and so much more. None of these things are material in nature. On the contrary, they're spiritual, and can be given freely. Mirella's role didn't require her to be perfect, it asked her to be present, invested, and committed to raising her daughter the best way she knew how.
