*** Update 5/14/20. Since this episode was recorded, the IRS has actually clarified that the stimulus check will NOT have to be repaid.
The confusion was that in the language of the bill, the stimulus check is referred to as an advance of a tax refund. But they’ve since stated that it will not have to be repaid, nor will they allow it to lower the income you were already due to receive.***
