The First Purge - Episode 140

This week on Black on Black Cinema, the guys return to discuss 2018's socially aware horror film, The First Purge. While the fourth movie in the "Purge" franchise, The First Purge is a prequel and details the beginning of the lawless night started on Staten Island, NY. Focusing on Black and Brown lower socioeconomic citizens, the government allows for a single 12 hour period where all crime is legal, including murder. This is supposed to work as a catharsis for the citizenry, but the fears of some thinking the government is up to something sinister turn out to be truer than they thought.
