In episode 21, we talk with Dr. Alex Brewis (Slade) about her new position as President of the Human Biology Association, her personal development as a researcher, and recent research on weight stigma. Brewis shares stories of her past and her diverse background within the field of anthropology, the importance of studying stigma as an anthropologist, and her hopes for the future of the Human Biology Association. Brewis is a President’s Professor at Arizona State University and former director of ASU’s School of Evolution and Social Change.
