Discipled By His Love (Philemon) // Dominick Butler Philemon 1:9; "...for love's sake..." The Letter Paul wrote to Philemon has such a deep well for us to drink from. The Gospel is on full display in the context of this letter. We as a body examined deeply Jesus' command after the foot washing before the Passover when He exclaimed in John 13:34-35; "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” God's love will challenge every ounce of pride within us. Last night the standard of Christ's love was exalted before our hearts.
