Identity politics is alive and well. Karen Wang was the liberal representitive for the Burnaby South by-election up until she was ousted for her comments online. In a riding with a large Chinese population, Wang made it clear that she was the only Chinese representitive, going against the "diversity is strength" liberal tagline that got Trudeau elected in the first place.
