REVOLUTIONS PER MOVIE REVOLUTIONS PER MOVIE LIVE: Kevin McDonald Superstar
This week, we present a very special Revolutions Per Movie Live recording of Kevin McDonald Superstar, a rip-roaring comic rock opera performed to a sold-out crowd at the Clinton Street Theater in Portland, Oregon.
Written by McDonald, Kevin McDonald Superstar is based on the true story of his relationship with his girlfriend “Cheater” and a stupid, awful thing he did in New York City while traveling with the Kids in the Hall.
The show boasts an eclectic cast of stellar comedic and musical talent, including Scott McCaughey (of The Minus 5 & R.E.M.), Chaki (The Funk Wizard! of RPM's URGH and Midnight Special podcasts), Jennifer Faust & Brian Kunkel (of Denim Wedding), Suzanne Foster, Julia Corral, and, of course, Kevin McDonald himself.
AND… exclusively for RPM’s Patreon supporters: Following the Superstar performance, Kevin and I had an out-of-control live interview, including the most excitable, whirling dervish Q&A ever committed — where Kevin talked about everything from the creation of various Kids In The Hall sketches to his tragic high school rock band, to the night the Kids In The Hall had to bail Bruce out of jail after insulting a member of The Black Crowes. It was incredible! This episode is available to supporters of the Revolutions Per Movie Patreon over at patreon.com/revolutionspermovie. I hope you'll consider joining for $5 per month, to get the RPM 7” flexidisc and access to 117 exclusive bonus RPM episodes like this one.
So prepare to rock out and laugh out loud at this unforgettable rock opera that showcases McDonald’s signature offbeat humor and love of music, delivered in the way only he can.
