Lightning Idea On A Walk
- A sudden walking-in-Hackney idea produced the opening rising-note motif for "Welcome."
- He printed many processed versions of the same F note from a Moog One to build the trails you hear.
Treat Sounds As Living Elements
- He treats each processed copy of the same note as a living, distinct element in an ecosystem.
- Jon deliberately varies delays, reverbs and ring-modulation so the same pitch becomes many textures.
Woodland Speakers As Natural Effects
- Collaborator Dan (Seven Rays) sent Fysmo synth recordings and later played stems back through speakers hung in trees.
- Jon integrated those woodland-processed stems to blur studio and outdoor environments.

Engaging us in the album’s immersive journey, Jon talks us through the spaces and natural processing that shaped the sound of the record, from the depths of an Ecuadorian Cave to the vintage synths recorded in the woods.
Unearthing the individual parts and gradual sonic changes, we hear Jon's outlook on following intuition, responding to ‘bolt of lightning’ ideas and insane bursts of creativity, all tied together with thoughts on consciousness and the links between sound and mind.
