#119: Needle Pain No More with Thimble

Do needles make you sweat, faint, freak out or even avoid the doctor? Today’s guest saw an often ignored problem in healthcare and decided to come up with a solution!

Dr. Manju Dawkins is our guest today. She saw a problem in her family and practice and decided to find a solution!  Plus we love the name of her company, Thimble( we want to know how many of you will get the meaning behind the name?!)

Data suggests that up to 23% of people in the U.S may be avoiding vaccines and other medical procedures to do needle phobia. With so many innovative medications requiring self injection plus the ever growing list of  vaccines and IV therapies, needle phobia/pain issues may become an ever growing blockade to proper healthcare.

More about Dr. Manju Dawkins

Dr. Manju Dawkins is a mom, physician, entrepreneur and creator/founder of Thimble. As both physician and mom, she realized the impact of needle phobia and pain associated with vaccinations and healthcare treatments. She is a Los Angeles based board certified  dermatologist  creating solutions for those who dislike needles. THIMBLE is the first easy, safe, and accessible solution for alleviating needle pain and anxiety.

She was raised on the east coast and received her B.A from Columbia University and her M.D from University of Maryland School of Medicine. After completing her Residency training in Dermatology she moved to the west coast where she works as a General Dermatologist.
