It's amazing that some companies, and individuals, still struggle to provide high-quality photographs to accompany their press release, article, or blog when they are a prerequisite for prominent coverage.
The media, and our own channels, all thrive on quality images so in this podcast I share the costs and top tips from professional photographer Marcus Ahmad.
Media coverage: In some cases – such as announcing a new appointment – the media won’t even publish the story unless there’s a decent image to go with it.
Delivering the right message: Images can give the right, or wrong, message to your audience. If someone knew nothing about your business other than what they could see from a single photo, how would they describe you?
Full impact: Whatever platforms you use for your content marketing – blogs, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest – images are vital. There’s lots of research out there to show how images can help increase engagement (e.g. tweets with images get twice as much engagement).

- Make sure you and the photographer are on the same page in terms of outcomes. Discuss first what you want to get out of this …eg. How many shots, for which purpose…image, style, purpose, colour or B+w, usage
- Employ a Stylist - To help on-site so that you can relax and enjoy the shoot. You'll look better in the end. I mention my work with UK based Nick Hems.
- Personal grooming. Prepare the night before. e.g. shaving, eyebrows, ear hair, and. bring several changes of clothes and accessories to the shoot.
