Gwen Ela Is The Only Nurse In The Room Explaining Why The Risk Is Worth The Reward

Now that coronavirus vaccines are being distributed, the first people to get it have become de facto ambassadors for it, reassuring the public that it’s safe. As U.S. states figure out how to roll out the inoculations, some people are wondering whether to get it at all, often because they’re scrolling in online communities where emotional anti-vaxxer anecdotes spread faster than accepted science.

Today we have Gwen Ela, a lac-USC, Registered Nurse. Gwen works in med-surg and lives with her husband and 5-year-old son in Southern California. Not only was Gwen one of the first people to receive her Covid vaccine, she helped to convince her mother (who is also a nurse) to get her vaccine as well.
